My first duty station was over at Ft. Riley...a whopping hour away from Topeka at the height of Iraq. So you can the fun I saw on a daily basis.

I've always wondered. You know how when one of these horrific tragedy's occurs (like sandy hook) and the WBC comes out with all the "gods will" bullshit.

Well what would happen if the next crazed gunman decided to go after a WBC congregation? Would that be gods will?

They would claim its just a GOD-HATING FAGGOT GUNMAN instead of gods will
 
They'd be dead and wouldn't really be able to blame it on anything.

Let's say one lived,they might claim God punished them for not hating fags enough.

Nothing that I can account for, but I do know my Command Sergeant Major took to some target practice with his golf set. He was a bit off in the head to be honest.

I was assuming it would be just one group of them (is there only one group?)

Bagging the whole lot would just be wishful thinking.

The whole group is basically Fred Phelps and his family (with the exception of three kids).
 
I made it to the point in the Fred Phelps history where Nate walked out. Then I got distracted by going through Nate Phelp's facebook page. Normally I'm put off by middle-aged and older men, but I seriously want to give this guy a hug. I also kind of want to cry.

technically they are. There is one family of outsiders that live with them, but other than that, they're all one big f-ed up family. All the girls are leaving though...so it's kind of divine retribution. The only ones left are going to be the guys...giving in to forbidden longings...ooooo yeah!

I Know what you mean. A few days ago I watched a video of some westboro cultist getting mocked and humiliated on camera till she lost her shit and started babbling, before I realised she was Nates sister Margie, the only one who had the balls to stand up for her family against freddy (with a knife no less) and possibly the sole reason he stopped physically torturing them. Despite all that potential for awesomeness, her father had still managed to reduce her to yet another broken little puppet of his

As said before, I can only hope that when the scumbag finally snuffs it the family has enough collected sanity to cut the bullshit and get professional help.
 
When Fred Phelps finally dies and joins Jerry Falwell and Ronald Reagan in hell, it would be hilarious if a shit load of people came out to his funeral in drag and sexy military uniforms.
 
The thing that bugs me most of all is that they have tax exempt status, but they aren't really a church that anyone can join or attend.
