im no theologian, but from what i remember from bible study as a kid i was told that noah had two of every animal on earth and everything not on the ark died. so logically if follows that yes, he had all of that on his ark.

One biblical literalist cope I've seen is that evolution isn't real but yet evolution happened after the flood, so Noah didn't have two of every quadruped ruminant (like cattle, oxen, horses, giraffes, etc.) on the ark, but he did have two quadruped ruminants that diversified into all the others after the flood.

Given that cope, Noah could have not had two of every wood-eating insect species on the ark, but just two prototype wood-eating insects, which presumably wouldn't have been able to do enough damage to a 300-cubit-long wooden boat in 40 days to seriously damage it.

This comes from the word "kind" being used. And apologists basically use that as an arbitrary taxonomic distinction. But Leviticus 19:19 instructs people not to breed cattle of different kind so if there are multiple cattle "kinds," then "kind" is more specific than species.

Also, the rain was 40 days. The voyage was a year.

im no expert but i do know that accuratly translating hebrew into english isnt the easiest thing to do.ive heard that the language tends to have fewer words and as such each word can have various meanings depending on context. so would it be possible to say that the 'kind' in Leviticus and the 'kind' in noah are suppose to be translated slightly differently, such that the apologist argument makes sense? otherwise id agree, their argument doesnt hold up.

You might have a fair point there. Ancient Hebrew is basically designed for puns in script.
The script doesn't have vowels though they are understood to be there through oral tradition. "Moloch" is an interesting example where it's believed the name derives from "MLK" (how it's approximately written in original text which literally means "to rule") but spoken with the vowels of the oral word "boset" which means "shame." This is to imply Moloch is a "shameful ruler" but the text doesn't actually say that because a lot of the interpretation of the Torah is based on oral tradition and how ambiguously pronounced words were pronounced by the people reading it.

Yeah, that's always been a really weird story.

The thing is not only would he need to have two of a whole bunch of different animals, people forget everything in the kingdom plantae. Very few regular plants are going to survive 6 months to a year submerged in deep water. Does he have a separate greenhouse section? Plus with that massive influx of fresh water all the saltwater fish in the oceans are going to die.

The old testament is insane.

Edit: I guess he could carry seeds for the trees, but a lot of plants don't reproduce that easily.

I mean. They had clay pots you could put them in.

just don't knock any over.
