Hunter tries to keep viewer engagement on the ads up by acting disinterested or doing some kind of bit which seems to work judging by the comments about his sponsored segments. I don't mind it too much but when the joke has been done a dozen times it just becomes another spot to skip over. They're picking up any sponsor that will throw them money and will read whatever script is sent their way regardless of the product.
I assumed he started day drinking

No one mentioned it yet but the boys said they might read Jeff the killer vs Slender man in the future
The dip from the White Supremacist story must have them rattled, good. They were getting a little too cocky about just reading whatever random story was placed in front of them.

Honestly if I had just stumbled onto their channel that first ad read wouldve definitely made me click something else.

I don't care about whatever le quirky bit they do while reading them, I refuse to watch ANY youtuber's ad read in full.

I, however, will always watch Internet Historian attempt to lose his sponsors with his retarded ad reads. If you're gonna do it, go all in. The lazy verbatim ad reads with little jokes thrown in ain't it. Gimme a short film about Nordman in a pulp-noir setting that barely has anything to do with VPNs.

Isn't IH's day job in marketing? I very much doubt he loses any sponsors over his ads (though I use sponsorblock like an edumacated person, so I can't remember if he has repeat sponsors).

It's why I liked how people are saying it is like a tales from the crypt episode. Creepypasta should feel like an episode in an anthology series with how short and punchy it is.
That's actually why the OG Jeff The Killer story (well technically that youtube slideshow one is apparently the ACTUAL og but who gives a fuck) is one of my favorite Creepcast episodes and still my favorite telling of the creepypasta over any of the speshul retakes. It's dumb and campy but really short and doesn't lag TOO behind in establishing "oh okay, there's a superhuman 13 year old killer with burnt skin and no eyelids on the loose" and getting the hell out of your way after giving you the origin story, I feel like those are all the essence of early creepypasta and a big contributor to how popular he was back in the day when even his cohorts like Ben Drowned and Slenderman had more involved lore, even if it was obviously mostly just the image.

I was showing a guy I liked the My Best Friend Ruined... video and it made me starkly aware of how many capeshit jokes are in that video. He was just completely stone faced the entire time. This has to be one of the most harrowing experiences of my life, I don't know why they had to bring up Batman eight separate times.

Used to be. And he's lost Nord as a sponsor before because of his ads. Only for them to come right back and get the same treatment. In one of his vids I'm pretty sure he played the ad anyway despite not even being sponsored because he already put the effort into making it.

I cannot imagine trying to show anyone I like Creepcast. It's such a specific brand of autism.

"No bro, just wait. He starts talking about Mr Floppy and it's really funny I swear"

I may have gone too far in a few places. He did find it funny how bad the story was, at least.

Anyhow, I seem to have a disinterest in these videos now, except when they've been released in a few batches and I have something to pick and choose. I kinda liked Ad Nauseum. I still wish they would return to the pre-2016 stories, I still don't care about these "OK-ish" B-horror novels from r/nosleep. They should do the Puppetmasters Regime or something. My biggest gripe is how all of the stories feel and sound the same. The narrator voices never really feel distinct and I am very bored of the mid-20s, wistful but sometimes snarky Guy (or he/she) protagonist.

Earnestly, a lot of these forgettable ones feel like they've been written by the same guy. It sucks that it feels like they "blew their load" too early and covered all of the good (and so bad its good) stories. Maybe because back then it was Isaiah picking the stories and not the Fat's overpaid, faggot crew members?

Historically every youtube channel goes to shit the more and more the youtuber entrusts the actual youtubing to their employees, so I wouldn't be shocked.

They could get a lot of mileage out of reading some classic 4chan pastas, like Goatman. Usually pretty short and to the point. But those Usually have naughty words they can't handle saying like "retard" without having to prostrate themselves.
Edit: I know they did Goatman. I just mean more like it.

This comment from the Gemini Home Entertainment CreepTV really sticks with me

Because while they weren't written by the same guy the were written for the same guy.

They can't those are saved for emergencies. Now they're going to do Jeff vs Slenderman to recover.

New writers want to over explain EVERYTHING. I don't care that it doesn't make sense in real life. I know I'm reading a story.

My issue with modern pastas and NoSleep stories is they're mostly just competent. They sit in this annoying place where they're neither good or bad enough to be memorable. Old school creepypastas have a distinct format and they're told more like campfire stories or rumours than long form fiction, or they were so poorly written that they warped back around to being bad in a good way.

Now that creepypastas don't really use that format anymore, they've crossed the threshold into competently written (but still amateur) fiction, just with some arbitrary restrictions placed on it by NoSleep tranny mods. This might sound mean, but if I want to read competent horror fiction, I have way better options than NoSleep stories.

Precisely my issue! The biggest issue is that a lot of these episodes are just filler sludge, because the stories arent bad enough, nor good enough to listen to. The issue is that makes it such a detriment to the format is that theres no trade-off. I can listen to Penpal or Borrasca and be fine with the lack of commentary from the hosts because the story makes up for it in and of itself. I can also listen to Happy Appy or The Sandman because, while the stories aren't good, that lends to the hosts being able to lampoon and take the piss out of the stories, which is also entertaining enough to be worth a listen.

With many of these episodes since the start of 2025 it's just Lips and Fat reading a story that's "fine" and having no input because Fat's style of comedy is inherently degrading and Lips has seemingly put himself in the position of Tranny Hypeman. As a result it feels like in between every good story (or, preferably, good  episode), theres three weeks of filler content.

If I was either of them I honestly would just outright not publish these episodes and I would (horrifiyingly enough) take viewer suggestions over what they're doing now, which is having some gook pick and choose stories for them. Harry obviously doesn't have the taste nor interest to pick stories that make interesting episodes and hasn't for a while. It's crazy how good we had it just a year or so ago, going from back to back readings of Left-Righr Game, Borrasca, Penpal... then stuff like Smile.jpg, Jane the Killer, etc...

Although, that would take more effort, and any more effort than sitting down and being able to banter with your best friend, for a five digit pay, four times a month is too much!

I dunno, it feels like they're trying to cater to an audience that doesn't exist. They seem conscious of the fact that the videos they get worked up and angry at do the best, but then you can hear them actively try to sabotage a "crash out" before it even occurs? I don't know why, but they seem to be under the impression that a majority of their audience wants to use their show as an audiobook review format of horror stories, rather than the advertised "a nerd and an idiot tackle internet horror." I would assume its a loud minority or the paypiggies considering a vast majority of user suggested stories always tend to be awful (happy appy, my property, etc...)

I don't mean to make an essay on the Creepypasta grift podcast, but I've been listening to them consistently since I started a new job a year back and my job naturally has a lot of dead air, I also grew up on Creepypasta tumblr as a kid. As a result, I havent missed a single episode since last November so I naturally have a lot of thoughts on the matter.
