Been stumbling into these a lot lately. Particularly this weird genre of "And the Woman Sufferes Terribly" games that seem like they're cranked out by the same jeets in a basement somewhere. They oftentimes appear in the match 3 categories.

Equally odd are these tranny-made ones that are (or were?) about as pornsick as you'd expect.

Just seeing a rash of these lately and I found it more interesting than anything else. I was just curious if anybody else might have stumbled into similar.

If it isn't the pornsick ones, it's always the ones where they are solving an easy puzzle and failing each time. Checking these games out, they have little to nothing to do with the ads.

I can’t find it but it’s a game where a black guy with a gun like a musket is in a medieval setting and an Asian girl is about to be beheaded so he goes into “VATS mode” to target the other knight’s sword, misses, and she dies

Like what are they even trying to advertise

Thats basically their whole marketing strategy. show such a ridiculous ad that it makes people curious about the game and they try it. most wont stick around and play it, but there are a few who will.

I've seen a few ads where there's some generic match-3 on the bottom of the screen while a steady flow of rocks comes from the top of the screen, slowly crushing a person to death if you don't open a path for the rocks to fall down the bottom. Looking at it definitely gave me the 'this is obviously the game maker's fetish' vibe.

I'm seeing ads about Last War: Survival Game.

It looks like a fine time waster, but I guess the reality of the game is that it's a tower defense game or something. Not just the "move towards gates" the ads show.

I'm surprised no one's made a version where you get crushed by a giant, highly detailed foot. And if there is I don't want to know.

I see the ads in OP all the time and it just looks like some freak gets off seeing women and children freeze to death. I never downloaded those games. But I assume the meat and potatoes there is some generic match 3 or merge game. Who knows if they even really contain the scenes in the ads. Because so many mobile games bait and switch you with that.

Not a mobile game, but on topic.

There's a remaster of the classic Lucas Arts cowboy FPS Outlaws and the trailer is weird.
For those that don't get it. It's a FPS game, but the player in the trailer never lands a shot. I've seen a bunch of speculation as to why, from trying to make it family friendly, to it being rage bait to get people to buy it to prove how much better they are.

Edit: The comments are fun too.

I was going to post this. I don't think it's a fetish thing, but it is weird.

What made it memorable was it seemed oddly loud. So family members would be silently scrolling on their phone, and suddenly there's a loud grunting sound followed by gravel.

Did an IGN journo do the gameplay in that trailer or something?

This video is long, but I present to you, Lily's Garden:

I've actually played it, and of course, it's nothing like this. It's a puzzle game where you fix your property. You inherit a mansion from your aunt or some shit and you have to fix it up before some deadline. As you play, you learn things about your aunt and ypur family. There's also a lot of drama.

I remember the JoJo Part 4 memes that I saw due to Blaine looking like Yoshikage Kira.
But seriously, the lore of the very first ad alone is really funny.

The fact that the OG ad was too "depressing" & memed to hell
That they had to retcon it into what could only be called a girlboss tactic.
And even made a wholesome sequel to it.

It's truly bizzare...

I'm surprised I don't have more screenshots of ones that I've seen. There's this recent one for a game called Panthia I think, a pregnant fairy comes home with a bag of groceries and finds her husband cheating on her. She goes up to confront him and he KICKS HER DIRECTLY IN THE PREGNANT STOMACH and knocks her backwards into the wall where she falls to the ground and there is a VISIBLE FOOTPRINT on her stomach. These ads are becoming bizarre Elsagate type torture porn and it's honestly disturbing.

These are from a period a while back where ads were trying to be as disgusting as possible for some reason. I just saw one a couple days ago that brought back memories: a girl goes to kiss her boyfriend at a party but as she leans over she farts for like 5 solid seconds, green stink gas shooting out from her butt, sickening her boyfriend and all the people in the room. I don't remember what the game was and I've only seen it that one time, which is shocking for how repetitive mobile game ads are.

I just liked these ones.

There's so many fascinating things about this picture.

There's nothing obscure about these ads, but I'm baffled to why they'd even lie about the game like this. The ads themselves make the game look no better than a janky GTA clone.

What kind of game is it?

Par for the course, a majority of the ads bear zero resemblance to the actual "game."
I never understood this. It's like the AI products coming out of china. You know people want X, so you make an ad promising X, but then deliver Y. It's not like the games being promised as some grand, out there idea either. It's usually match 3 or something.
