Landmine squats look ridiculously dangerous from the way I've seen people do them. They often move forward after lifting the weight so they're positioned under where it would land, and so if they completely fail they crush their legs or feet. Or the angle of the bar lowering would force them to move down with it in a potentially hazardous way. I've seen a dozen variations so I don't know what the "proper" form for this is but it looks retarded.

This shit could be in a SIR New Year comic

Took a couple days rest after doing alternating 1 day on, 1 day off for awhile. I came back today and man I feel way less fatigued, stronger. Still trying to find my optimal recovery ratio, but every second day is still not enough rest.

There's a section in the book Overcoming Gravity about "periodization" that might be useful.

Thanks guys, never landmine squatting again. Although I do share the sentiment that landmines in general are fun. Single arm rows by grabbing the fat end of the bar will give you the grip strength of a murderer.
Would probably be out of snap city by now but I took a detour fucking my wife. Managed to spam OHP as it was the only compound I could do with no pain. 1pl8 for 5x15.

I think serious periodization is for athletes and bodybuilders where you specifically want to structure your mesocycles around competing in something and the various requirements those competitions have (ie a huge cutting cycle for bodybuilders before a show will require different exercises with different RPE than a bodybuilder bulking in the off-season, a powerlifter will need different cycles for hypertrophy and strength). For most normal people lifting to build muscle you can just structure around deload weeks. Go hard on the last week before your deload and go easy on your first week back. Personally I take the last set to failure pretty much every time and on the week before deload I take every single set to failure. On the week back I try to leave 2-3 RIR every set. Frequency of deload weeks is dependant on your age, training age, and hard you train of course but probably a good rule of thumb is under 35yo every 8-12 weeks, over 35yo every 6-8 weeks if pushing hard 4-5 times a week. If you're under a couple years training age you might have to bump up the frequency of deload weeks as well if you're pushing to failure or close all the time.

This is the second comp i've seen women pissing themselves. Its always during deadlift third attempts apparently. Are they not letting these women just go piss? Has anyone seen this shit firsthand? Also props to russ and other commentator for just moving past it.
Haven't seen it irl but I've heard it's common for women because of the abdominal pressure. Also, what's with all the olive green? Is this some sort of military larp?

It’s involuntary for women and I hate that it’s an ok thing just because of woman biology.

Even other women find it gross and weird and the easiest remedy are adult diapers.

I had a dodgy stomach and farted doing arm curls once. It was almost much more messy. Thank Christ the changing rooms and showers were empty.
