Hit 425x4 on deadlifts today for top set. PR is 7 but still working my way back up after a long time off. Usually lower back gets super tight cause I straight up just walk out of the gym after my top set. But went ahead and did some backdown sets and dead hangs. Felt a lot better. I need to spend more time and effort on cardio and accessories its just no where near as fun as big squats/deadlifts. Maybe one day

Seems like every 10 pound addition increases the difficulty along a curve, I'm at 40s right now and I'm dreading moving up to 50s here soon
I was handling 55s pretty easily but just moving up 5 pounds became a huge challenge for me. Granted, I am using a cap dumbbell instead of the pf ones so that might make a difference.

Here's a little game I call "Mr. Mike or Pooner?"

If anyone here is after a good Pull Up Station, I can heartily recommend the one from Gornation.
This is if you live in the EU, of course. Still, if you live in the USA, I imagine there are even better alternatives.

I've found that the customer service of Gornation is excellent, and their products are as well. I'm so pleased with the Pull Up Station that I bought from them that I wanted to give them a shout-out here.

This variation of squat keeps fucking my shit up. I’m not even injuring myself performing it(feels good in fact) but hours later out of nowhere my lower back will seize up and I can feel a dull throb from my hips down to my knees. It’s happened too many times now to be coincidence.

That's a landmine squat. I've only tried them once and didn't like the movement, the path of the end of the bar moves away from you as you go up and into you as you go down so it kinda pushes you around and I could see how that could strain you if you're lifting heavy. If you're looking for alternatives try a zercher squat or just regular front squat. A goblet squat is sort of the same thing too I also find going heavy on those annoying but some people love them.

Yeah landmine squats seem kind of gimmicky to me, they do feel good and I like being able to balance a little with the bar but there's just no replacing the good ol front and back squats

Landmine attachments are some of the best ROI you can get from an equipment accessory point of view. One-arm landmine presses will blow the fuck your shoulders.

But landmine squats are TERRIBLE. You are not doing a real/natural squat pattern, it's basically a front-loaded hack squat, but only the bar path is fixed. And since the center of mass is in front of you, you're more doing a quad-lean, but at the same time, the bar pushes you back, which forces an unnatural lean

It's also very bad for posterior-chain development, which is probably related to your back issues.

Just be normal and do back-squats, they're better in everything: load, systemic stimulus, hypertrophy, strength transfer, mobility demand, spinal robustness, metabolic stress.

Landmine squats look ridiculously dangerous from the way I've seen people do them. They often move forward after lifting the weight so they're positioned under where it would land, and so if they completely fail they crush their legs or feet. Or the angle of the bar lowering would force them to move down with it in a potentially hazardous way. I've seen a dozen variations so I don't know what the "proper" form for this is but it looks retarded. If you fail a squat in a squat rack and you're not on suicide watch, the safety bars just catch the bar. If you fail a deadlift you just drop the weight downwards from where you picked it up from.

I also don't like any kind of adjustable dumbbells that you hold over your head or face. You can't trust those clips to keep those plates from murdering you.

Is it just me or is the newest trend in fitness Youtubers doing two high intensity sets now? I've noticed a huge amount of relatively new videos talking about this sorta set range and doing high intensity.

Isn't that what Jeff Nippard's video from a month ago was about? I guess now it's all the rage because of that.

Didn't even see Jeff Nippard, but Athlean-X just did one just now.
5 days ago there was Alex Leonidas, before that Peter Khatcherian. Looks like it goes back about a year or so. People are diggin' up ol' Mikey Mentzer these days. Another L for Doctor Mike despite being bigger and stronger and knowing more than Mike Mentzer.

Honestly, I think that's a great thing. I rather this people promote something (mostly) universally efective as going to failure on machines with moderate reps, than doing 20 sets per muscle with 4RIRs or 8RPE with compound movements. If people have never taken a muscle group to failure, how would they know what 8RPE is? plus the big 3 suck if you don't have the biomechanics for them, so moving people away from them is (mostly) a great thing

Yeah, I'm generally fond of higher intensity over higher volume, although I do prefer compound movements over machines.
I sharted myself in gym yestarday.

Also, in changing room I am constantly harassed for twink attitude and be molested under showers.

What do??
Don't shit yourself and don't have a twink attitude. Or go to Planet Fitness if you can't live without shitting yourself or your twink attitude.
