This is weird. I’ve been laid up wit a weird virus this week (not AIDS),and haven’t been able to do a leg day but my knees are fucking killing me. It feels like I’ve been hiking up and down a bunch of steep hills with a heavy backpack when the most exercise for the past few days is just walking to work or the shops.

Yesterday I went to work, came home before lunch because I’m so ill and slept until today and knees still feel like I’ve been overtraining. Could that be the virus or is it just getting old and I need to think about strapping up my knees?

I actually had something similar last week. Felt like a little bitch going up a single flight of stairs. Periodic pains in my joints. It cleared up after a few days.

Getting sick can fuck with your joints so I wouldn't worry too much. If it doesn't go away then it might be aging. Just take time to rest and recover.

Regarding cutting, if you haven't switched your diet over to stuff like lentils/nuts/eggs/vegetables yet I'd highly suggest that before you start. People always bitch about it being ~healthier~ nonspecifically, but the thing that never gets mentioned is you'll be way, waaay less hungry in general if you're eating nutritionally dense food.

My winter cut from mid-November through the middle of January involved me merging my lunch/dinner into one meal and making my two meals ~30% larger than the regular meals I was eating. I've done cuts before but this was the first serious one I'd done since unfucking my diet and once I was past the first couple days I wasn't hungry at all. Dropped ~16lb and 4% bodyfat, didn't go down on any weights, will do again.

Can't say this with 100% certainty but here, there's a virus going around and the primary symptoms are an unproductive cough and exhaustion. Gym's been nearly empty the last two days and will be more empty tomorrow because I'm definitely coming down with it atm.
 
Next week I'm trying for a 485 deadlift. As much as I want to just go straight to 500, trying to be careful and calculated about how much I'm pushing. 463 went up pretty easy so here's hoping I crush it come Thursday :)

No cough but really tired and my joints are killing me. Weirdly the only other gym enjoyer in the office was feeling the same when I spoke to her. At least it’s not flu. There’s a bad batch of that going around here in Bongland. Although lying in bed sweating and not eating for a week would get rid of the couple of annoying lbs I want to get rid of but stubbornly won’t go.

I’m doing a run today for the first time in ages after covid fucked my lungs. Even over here in Bongland the divine light of the God-Emperor of mankind is healing me.

hit 455x2 on deadlift after being sick for 2 weeks. was going to be a pr day, was gonna aim for 505+, maybe 525. ended up cutting it a little short but glad at how easy 455x2 felt. Feel like I did basically nothing and next day still feel like i didnt go to gym at all. I will definitely try again in a week or so and try for 525 atleast which will be like a 20 pound pr.

Had my first actual god dammit January moment a day or two ago. Someone stole a 25 plate off my bench bar while I was on the fucking bench resting between sets. What the fuck?

Meanwhile, fuck being sick. I wanna go lift but my lungs feel like they're completely filled with fluid. Extremely not fun especially when I'm supposed to be ramping up into a bulk again.
 
I'm trying to make a home gym. Facebook marketplace is a bust, just tons of Amazon garbage or far away deals. Been looking at the Rep AB3000 for a bench. Definitely need a rack of some kind, also looking at Rep. Kinda budgeting right now, but man, I'm impatient. I just want to get this going. Nearest gym is about an hour just in driving, used to live much closer. Anyone used that bench?

Oh well, I'm gonna try and cut 15lbs and hopefully remain strong.

Looks good. I was gonna get one of these rogue flat utility benches. Same benches they have at my gym that I know I like. I've been checking craigslist every couple weeks to see if anything good ever turns up. I've been back and forth for 2 years on having a home gym or not but if I get a good deal on a head start I might do it.

Craigslist is dead I feel. Facebook marketplace is where everyone posts. I seen one of those for $100 on there but it's in another state. I don't think it's quite the time for New Year's resolution sell offs by people but I'm checking constantly for equipment.
 
I took a scoop of preworkout last night and walked over to the gym for the SWAGGIEST FUCKING EXERCISE OF MY LIFE.

I stepped out of the car and started walking over to the gym and reached into my wallet to grab my access badge and it wasn't there. After looking around in it for 10 minutes I gave up, drove home and showered to get ready for work. As I stepped into my car, I spotted my badge between my car door and my seat.

How do y'all eat quickly (faster you eat the more you can eat) while eating with others? A fatass I eat with will clear 3x the food I eat (no exaggeration) in the same time it takes me to eat half my plate, but he seems to have the same share in conversation? How is this possible?
 
About two weeks ago my knee started hurting in the middle of squats so I stopped the set early, now my knee hurts whenever I walk up stairs or try to carry anything heavy. I haven't done any lifts that hit that knee since then, but it still doesn't seem to be healing on its own so I'm concerned now. Wat do?
