I used to read 8-bit Theatre and Elf Only Inn. 8-bit is long ended and EOI has been on "hiatus" since 2008.

I still check out Order of the Stick every now and then as well.

Oglaf.
Lackadaisy Cats.
Paranatural, even though I'm beginning to think that it will never be finished.

Belzebubs: the story of a death-metal band. Of course all of them are Satan worshippers, even the frontman's family (wife and two children).

It can be adorable.

My Life as a Background Slytherin. A girl called Emily goes to Hogwarts and she's assigned to Slytherin. Dumbledore's portrayal makes it a worth read. Parody comic, amusing enough, but it doesn't update very often.

Is 'Oh Joy Sex Toy' cheating? I just found this gem from a /co/ thread.
View attachment 576527

You know, I like to view myself as a pretty chill faggot when it comes to fetishes. I honestly don't care what gets you off as long as no one is hurt and everyone consents. But there is something in Oh Joy Sex Toy that makes me feel deeply uneasy and I can't quite put my finger on it.

It's because they explain everything as though the reader is a literal reetarded person. That alone is bad, but when you couple with the fact they're trying to show you "eccentric" sex acts in what amounts to a children's cartoon book style, it's all kinds of bizarre.

That's probably it. Maybe it's also how sanitized and similar each comic is. They'll always describe the environment as 100% safe, emphasize consent, have the usual melange of body positive people show up as examples. A lot of these subcultures have people who are predatory and while I'd never advise someone to not follow their kink, they should be aware of certain things like that and how to spot them.

I don't even think the basic idea behind the comic is bad, but it's combination of all that shit that makes it really uncomfortable.

I used to follow OhJoySextoy at the beginning mostly because it was different from other webcomics. There aren’t that many review comics and honestly medium seems to work really for reviewing sextoys because as a visual medium it gives more information about the toys’ uses without looking too gross. Art style is generally pleasant, realistic enough but not too realistic for the subject matter and panel flows, metaphors and general visual language were often creative. I found it fun deviation, part of my weekly webcomic routine but then the filler happed.

There just too many fillers from other artists. Early this was mostly fine. Occasionally someone else did a comic and it was about sextoys or making you own sextoys (like S&M shopping at the hardware store). Getting a different perspective while still staying true to comics special niche. These were of varying quality but group of ten comics only one or two were by guestartists so nothing that ruined the experience.

As OhJoySextoy went on more and more guest comics appeared and they were less about reviewing. There were short porn stories, personal life experiences and explanations of different fetishizes, something I can easily get somewhere else if I’m interested and really not what I’m there for so those where always unpleasant surprise. Not only did the guests artists subject matter change so did how often they were featured, often having two or three before getting few comics from Erica. At same time there were less reviewing and more sexual health lessons from Erica herself, again something I can get somewhere else easily and not what I’m there for. Since this comic up dates once a week, it could mean waiting over a month to get something not disappointing. I stopped checking out new comic weekly, only visiting every once every month or two (this around the infamous cuck comicstrip) and some point I stopped doing even that. I went I looked over current situation of the comic and it’s worse. Every second comic is from someone else and there are very few toy reviews.

The creators do came across as lazy and/or not really caring about this project. Then again Erica comes across to me as well meaning but not really believing what she is saying. Reading this and her previous comic DAR about her daily life, she seems to be ultra liberal sex positive intersectional feminist mostly to rebel against her mom. That this persona is everything mom hates and her liberal art and queer friends preach but not something she is 100 % into. She clearly isn’t that interested to new experiences around sex, having her mostly vanilla tastes well tested to create comfortable and satisfying routine. Nothing wrong in that but not really good mental place for project of this kind especially when she is very PC. Sex just isn’t PC topic period. Not only are plenty of horrible fetishes, there are plenty of sexual predators and sexual practices that aren’t save. Even our bodies aren’t PC, for example in heterosexual sex females catch STDs more easily and guys spread STDs more easily so even without pregnancy sex is more dangerous for women. I just think this comic was good idea but just not for Erica. What I can observe she seem to be a person who is very ordinary and would be very happy with traditional artistic 9-5 job like graphic design and normal nuclear family with 1-3 kids but is too scared do her family background and too indoctrinated by her ultra liberal circles to go for that.

I kind of got that impression as well from that one comic about her and her husband going to a swinger's party and they just sort of shuffle around awkwardly and leave uneventfully.

Breached is some kind of..adventure/horror/mystery.

Art style looks quasi Cal-arts, but its a fun 3 panel serial and the protagonist actually has a personality. Smartass goth lady wakes up in an alternate dimension with what looks like SCPs, or something like that. It's only three chapters and looks a little like old black and white horror movies, with the semi faggy cal-arts style. Doesn't look like the regular cal artist feminist shit, even if it is kind of quirky. Only updates once a month though.

I currently love reading both Unfamiliar, and Sleepless Domain. And if it counts, I check on Tom Fischback's trainwreck furry comic from time to time just for the unintentional shits and giggles.

Since we already have a bad webcomic thread, I figure we should at least have a GOOD webcomic thread.
Which webcomics have you found that you genuinely enjoy? Why do you enjoy them?

I'll start with my personal favorite, Gone With the Blastwave by Kimmo Lemetti. The art is fantastic. The bleak post-apocalyptic theme mixed with slapstick/dry humor makes for a good read when you're bored at work.

It's slow to update and as of December last year it's probably dead but still worth a look.
