Aww, lost the first Londoner I actually felt attached to. Powerful close combatant that could stunlock enemies, but hit so hard that stunning the enemy wasn't actually neccesary. He had a decent, upper crust voice and was decked out in studded leather.

Poor bastard got gunned down by an Albion swat team. Never had a chance.

Just got done with Watch Dogs 2 and want to sperg for a second. Game feels like it has a lot of potential but completely falls apart thanks to incompetent devs and writers (mostly writers).

All the characters are super cringe to the point that its actually painful to watch the cutscenes and interactions. If it was played for laughs as satire it might be entertaining but they were being serious and its just complete shit. What kind of a fucking retard do you have to be to write this embarrassing drivel Ubisoft Montreal - lmao never mind, they are worse that retards they are French Canadians

The story is one big missed opportunity too. They were so close to touching on some interesting subject like the impact of social media, technology and overreach of corporations on our freedoms but its all surface level and lame, Deus Ex did a much better job of it 20 fucking years ago.

The gameplay started off slow but started to grow on me, especially the hacking stuff and the remote control drones. I actually would have gotten rid of the guns in the game for the player character because it doesn't jive with the story. It feels weird to be able to slaughter everyone if you fuck up stealthing a mission and even more weird that there are zero story repercussions to murdering a bunch of people. Lots of potential but ends up feeling like a sub-par GTA clone with a couple of gimmicks.
That's because the writers want you to believe they deserve it anyways.

I liked it for what it was. A virtual trip to San Francisco. Marcus was a cool guy. Wrench (the guy with the virtual mask) was cringe. But, that's San Francisco.

Massive improvement from the first Watch Dogs. Setting, movement, activities, tone. Driving... serviceable. Actually reminds me of 3D GTA.

Aiden and Wrench are chatty mother fuckers when used in the main campaign. I'm tempted to start a new file and use them from the beginning; feels like the campaign would feel a bit stronger with set characters.

Haven't dipped into Boodlines yet, but it seems inoffensive enough.

By itself, Bloodlines is $15. But you have to buy a copy of Watch Dogs: Legion. When you're done with Bloodlines, you can recruit Aiden and Wrench. Whether it's worth the price of admission or season pass is up to you. I would say if you're a fan of Watch Dogs, get it on sale.

Matter of fact, the Watch Dogs series is worth it on a sale. Games and expansions if you like the gameplay loop.

Oh no, I meant that I haven't played much with the expansion yet despite owning it. A couple missions in though and I love the multidrone.

I got the game and season pass heavily discounted so I don't have any complaints. I really enjoyed the first and liked Aiden as a protagonist though, so I appreciate I'm a weirdo in this respect.

Has anybody tried Watch Dogs: Legion's multiplayer? It feels like it's trying to be GTA Online.

Grindy as fuck. Stuff is level gated up the arse, and the rewards are miserly enough that the boosters you can purchase don't have any substantial impact (a thirty percent increase on a reward of 20 points...). The missions can be fun but you can't physically start them without a group and they get repetitive pretty quick.

It's really weird. Doesn't play to the core games strengths at all.

Watch Dogs 2's tonal shift is of odds with the combat. You are in a group of "peaceful hacktivists" trying to bring down corporate espionage and surveillance. Yet you have free range to use assault rifles, shotguns and grenade launchers.

You could still hack, use melee combat and stealth your way through the missions. But it's jarring seeing Marcus wield such weaponry. Within context of the story, tone and setting. Many reviewers pointed that out.

That's actually a plot point in Legion, lol

I get it though. That said, part of Ubisoft's appeal with their games is the freedom you're given. The choice to mow everyone down with a machine gun is certainly at odds with the story, but I like that the option is there.

im gonna wait the 20 to 60 days it takes to crack these games so i can get that firgirl repack of legion
rip expectations

anyway i beat the game after 2 uplay+ subscriptions, completing the main game and the bloodlines dlc. bloodlines story was better than the main game it was in but i did screw myself over by not doing all the resistance missions as aiden.

sidenote, outside of being able to dress my team members in ridiculous outfits, whats the point in having money? i saved up like 100k eto because i just never bought anything. its not like there's weapons, ammo, craftables, or cars to buy like in the previous 2 games.

Without having played Watch Dogs 2, I'd rather have this than the game be really strict with staying grounded into the setting/story.

Choice is king in open world. GTA IV and GTA V have suffered from trying to stay too grounded IMO.

Finished Bloodlines. Short, but doesn't outstay its welcome.

They handled Aiden really well, honestly. He's presented as something of a creep and an asshole, but this time around it's entirely intentional - unlike in WD1 there's no question why his relationship with his family is the way it is (even at the time it was a little eyebrow raising that someone like him was so beloved by his nephew and sister). Regardless of how noble his intentions are, he's still a mercenerial fugitive with shitty social skills. It isn't character assassination via sudden personality shifts either, just the logical extension of his arc.

I liked it.

Oh no, you should definitely try Watch Dogs 2. There's a lot more to do and explore in Watch Dogs 2 than in GTA V. San Francisco is such an immersive place; you could naturally progress and discover all of what the world offers.

The tonal shift is a warranted criticism, but nothing that drastically takes away from the experience.
