Anybody remember Watch Dogs' E3 debacle with a downgrade before launch?

I believe that contributed to the meddling reception that Watch Dogs received. Not to mention the hype surrounding it when it turned out average.

It wasn't a bad game. Just typical Ubisoft fare, aside from the hacking mechanics.

That may have hurt Watch Dogs 2 because people were disappointed from the first game.

I liked the first game well enough. I really liked the second game even though the main cast of characters were pure zoomer cringe. Looking forward to making an all-white team led by an old English gran in Legion tomorrow.

Why are the villains in this game so cartoonish? I can understand the motivation for Cass, that he think England needs an iron fist to restore order and that one spoiler thing happening, but how can he just gun down the police commissioner in front of 5 people and then just walk away?
It gets even worse with that one character at the end who did a complete personality change into a deranged psycho.

competed villain with comprehensible motivation that isn't an outright caricature? this sound like alt-right gaslighting!

It was super overblown, and seemed to stem from the PC Master Race crowd that has a conniption fit if they drop a single frame under 120fps. Watch Dogs looked fine. Ironically, I think the PC version had some high-end graphics or something you could mod back in, in an unused directory that installs with your game.

Watch Dogs had a Wii U version that was like a year late. I wanted to get that version but I thought it was cancelled, they stopped talking about it after a while and then quietly released it one day. It got no DLC, either.

All I remember is one of my friends wouldn't stop talking about the first game in the days leading up to its release, and ended up pissed because apparently Ubisoft botched its performance with AMD graphics cards.

Got Legion last night since I'm bored and haven't touched anything with the Ubisoft logo since Far Cry 2. Is there a reason that I haven't found a single white person besides one of the default characters it lets you select? They know they based their own game off of London, yeah? (I know parts of it have become Englandistan, but shit, there's still SOME white people living there.)

nah, it really didn't look that good and didn't age that well, it also still has very weird performance issues where your fps drops hard, depending what you're doing. it can really fuck you over because it especially likes to happen when turning a corner. and it's not an issue of using an SSD and throwing more power at it, so I don't even wanna imagine how bad it must have been back then.

they recently ported breakpoint to vulcan, and man that shit is smooth like a sade song. adapting that is probably cheaper than updating watchdogs' engine.

I was tempted to reinstall Breakpoint the other day and replay the campaign as a "not looter-shooter" but I can't stand the drones.

it's a safety feature. trying to run the latest unoptimized AAA game on years old hardware that was already outdated at release with the mandate it has to look as good as the flagship version does that.
when shit gets too hot the console shuts down, highly doubt microsoft wants to spend another billion+ on another red ring debacle.

just wish normalfags and retarded journos would stop calling everything a fucking brick.

Any modern chip have a temp sensor that throttles it if it gets above a certain temperature, it's not like running FurMark in the days of yore.

So does anyone know where I can actually buy this piece of shit game? Someone offered to buy me it as part of a commission and it's just impossible apparently. Epicstore/Uplay don't take gift cards. Don't let you gift games either, even giving him my fucking account information didn't work because of different regions.

I've never seen a company work so hard to not get money before.

Back then Ubisoft was talking about bringing a couple of their MMOs and other AAA games to the Wii U. Few made it. I recall they went on about bringing Ghost Recon Online to the Wii U, but that was always on hiatus and died with the game's shut down. One would presume a key issue was with the Wii U hardware itself.

blame epic. before ubisoft spread their ass for them you could usually find keys almost everywhere in whatever version you needed, no hassle with accounts and shit.

guess the lower cut was worth it :stress:

they changed a few bits regarding that, you can play it now like a "normal" GR. don't really remember the drones being a big issue (unless you mean the azrael ones, think they scaled them back after people complained when they fucked with the frequency).

360 probably had one too, yet it red-ringed left and right (iirc it was the shoddy connection of the heat pipe).

i'm not even mad I can't play this shit game, I'm mad I may've missed out on getting a 60$ product for 3 minutes worth of work.

epic is awful.
