The Babylon Bee, The Onion, The Betoota Advocate etc haven't elicited more than a nasal exhale after following them on social media for a while.

Good satire used to be the kind of humor that is so subtle it goes right under the radar of an average fanatic retard comrade, but some people could read between the lines and get it. The totalitarian regimes could do nothing about it, cos it looked just like the propaganda, but with *something* off about it.
Satirical news were always mostly just cringe, it's for people who want to feel better about themselves, because they aren't some hypothetical strawman literal retard somewhere out there, who falls for fake fake news. And nowadays it's just a form of clickbait anyway.

It's funny when its racist. Or to be more precise when it uses absurdist humor as a vehicle for racism. It's funny because everyone that's stupid thinks the premise of being racists is absurd and that's the punchline, but it's even funnier for normal people because they recognize the actual joke is using the masquerade of the jester to openly signal your racism directly at the butt of the joke.

The old onion table books were extremely funny in terms of written comedy and the skits they used to do still hold up today even holding relevance to modern politics
