Don't have a source, no the font for the warhammer copyright doesn't match other recent sprues but that's not necessarily a deciding factor and the logo was apparently missing from the tomb world terrain as well. There was a rumor floating around in 9th that they had outsourced some terrain production to china(they've done it before with things like adeptus titanicus and aeronautica) and terrain does make sense as a less risky set of molds to ship to the chinamen if it were to get copied. Apparently they line up with some of the layouts shown for 11e previews. Basically it appears to be pre-painted terrain. The sheets between the sprues in the 2nd page appear to possibly show overspray from a UV printer(that's the kind of thing that could be used for something like this in production). There was a 5th image, but apparently it wasn't saved before shit got nuked.

Releasing pre-painted terrain makes a lot of sense since that is one thing most players hate doing themselves. I've painted most of the terrain for my guys but that's only because I initially bought them as fortifications from 6th / 7th ed.

The MDF terrain for Kill Team was actually really nice. It felt like a solid midpoint between hand painted stuff and literally kitchen bowls and other junk. It was also quick to set up and it seemed solidly built and it looked nice. The KT starter set was overall GOATed as fuck though for modern 40k.
Whilst id love to have some of GWs terrains (which typically are nice), they are usually stupid expensive and limited runs. MDF is a cheaper but not cheap alternative.

For sure. Even an FLG MDF set is $200-250. Depending on which terrain bits GW sells at any given time, a table's worth from them could be $500-800.
I was thinking about the sprues in the images. It could just be a new GW terrain sprue set, but the color printing could be limited runs for large event organizers as some of those people would need 200, 300, even 500 sets and pre-painted plastic is a hell of a lot quicker than 3d printing at that kind of scale.
