This reminds me... there was a chapter that fell to chaos over the course of a few novels, that ended in the last ... few of them being found loyal? But ending up committing suicide via eye of terror?

Soul Drinkers. There we go.

It would be interesting seeing GW do a new book series of Primaris Soul Drinkers. Having to basically rebuild a dead chapter, living up to it's namesake, dealing with old oaths and debts, being introduced to a world and an abandoned fortress monestary that had been left behind, that sort of thing. I think ADB did one about Space Marines in a declining chapter, too, Emperor's Spears or something?

The Soul Drinkers are also interesting because it's heavily implied that they might be from II or XI Legion gene-stock. They spend most of their book series believing themselves to be Imperial Fists successors, but then some other Space Marine pops up and goes "yo, we tested some gene-seed we pulled off one of you and Dorn's not the father" and everyone in earshot is completely baffled by this. After the last of them walked into the Warp, though, the Fists kind of just shrugged and said "okay, yeah, we'll claim them", and created a memorial to the chapter on the Phalanx.

The Emperor's Spears, IIRC, aren't so much in decline as they are just isolated and overstretched, since they got stuck guarding a remote region of space with two other chapters, one of which is nearly extinct (Celestial Lions) and the other of which fell to Chaos (Star Scorpions), and nobody else in the Imperium could get their heads out of their arses long enough to come help.

I'd also like to see resurrected Astral Knights. They died so fucking hard taking down the World Engine. A chapter like that deserves better than to be left in the dust of Imperial history.

Two things:
1. The Space Marine Chapter that revealed the Soul Drinkers as not Sons of Dorn was the Angels Sanguine Blood Angels Successor Chapter (Commander Gethsemar to be specific).

2. The Sable Swords were dicks when they forced Thade, the only Astral Knight remaining (and a Dreadnought), to SURRENDER the Astral Knight Fortress-Monastery to them and advised he should go out on a Crusade (basically go out in a blaze of glory). WTF? Give the Astral Knights some Primaris Marines to refill their ranks!

As for the Celestial Lions, I would suspect their ranks being refilled with Primaris Marines as well.

well given how thade was pissed that a green as grass chapter was taking over residency of their venerable monsatery, which had him saying to the chapter master of said sable swords that their basically not worthy of such a prestigious holding, so looking at that incident i doubt thade would be any less merciful to primaris filling their ranks seeing as they are the greenest guys around, and that might make him take a gabriel seth approach to them.

Here's the thing:
The Primaris Marines would have been Astral Knights (certainly to Thade's chagrin).
The Sable Swords were a completely different chapter coming in and kicking Thade out of the home he had known for centuries.
Of course, he'd be pissed.

I don't think Primaris Marines come with immunity to "Ork snipers". The Celestial Lions are perma-fucked until the Black Templars round up the rest of their cousins to finish what was started under Sebastian Thor in the Age of Apostasy.

Thade wasn't the only Astral Knight left, just the most senior. There were thirty veterans and trainees still at the fortress-monastery, but that wasn't enough to rebuild the chapter. Sable Swords were still dicks tho.

I could also see the Inquisition interfering to ensure the Lions don't receive any Primaris reinforcement, since they sent a Callidus to assassinate Ekene Dubaku over a century after they got most of the chapter killed on Armageddon, apparently purely out of spite. Of course, the Black Templars are on the case, which is bad news enough for the Inquisition, and if Guilliman ever finds out about this there'll most likely be hell to pay.

Guilliman is the Donald Trump of 40k. Return to greatness? Check. Exotic waifu? Check. Controlled by zion.....wait this doesn't work.

Anyways I trust him as a loyal blueberry. I just hope ADB or the primaris hating manlet marine brainlets dont push GW to do a "Guilliman Heresy"

well if the custodes keep having brazen drakes tier incidents, manlets just have to sit and watch. and as for any guilliman heresy he already did that 10,000 years ago with imperium secundus.

Guilliman's apparently building a harem.
Of course people ship Grandpa Smurf with Yvraine, but now there's also Yassilli Sulymanyan that the degenerates are shipping him with.

Speaking of primarchs, I recently read that Corvus Corax is being altered by The Warp.
He had a fight with Lorgar and Corax was described to have started exhibiting physical deformities.
Considering that we haven't seen Corax in a long time, he might be something unrecognizable by now.

Oh yeah he fucked up Lorgar something fierce, to the point the baby back bitch had to cut a hole in the warp to escape.

Corvus is basically warp infused revenge incarnate at this point and says he will be going after all his traitor brothers.

I believe it's somewhat alluded too that a large number of II and or XI Legion marines were rebranded into Ultramarines and Iron Hands after their Primarchs got Russed. I personally like to believe one legion had to be purged, one just the Primarch and his senior staff. So it'd make sense for well established Imperial Fists successors to discover they have no relation to Dorn.

Now, we have the Sons of the Phoenix.
You know, the guys who are TOTALLY a successor chapter of the Imperial Fists.
I mean, we all know that Rogal Dorn's most well-known nickname was "The Phoenix", right?

Not even trying.

Well, it's not like Guilliman suffers from this...

I look forward to SM getting nerfed more so I can continue my love affair with the Marines Malevolent (who I refuse to believe are anything but Iron Warriors successors).
