Please please please, give Ivara some changes because she feels fucking ancient. Like, I want to play her more, but even her thing as "the Spy Warframe" is better done by fucking Wukong.
If they give her any changes, I hope they move away from her being the spy frame. When was the last time they added a spy mission? The game has far since abandoned that type of slow gameplay, Wukong is only better at it than her because he straight up cheeses through every obstacle. Her niche since forever has been conservation and her prime looks like a jellyfish, it'd be nice if they lean into more of an animalistic predator vibe with her.

Her niche since forever has been conservation
Even that is better done by Equinox with max range sleep builds which just further proves anything she can do is better done by other Warframes. Hell, her invisibility breaking on sprinting and blinking on non-silent weapons is really showing her age. That's not even getting into how you basically have to do a whole lollipop dance just to get Crepuscular to work on both Prowl and her Bow.

Counter counterpoint: All of the Hex are written like cringey Young Adult novel characters, even the middle aged couple.
I'm left wondering with Flare why they went with Ziggy Stardust-era Bowie for inspiration, which is from the 70s, not to mention the music that gets played in his defence mission too doesn't really fit if they want to go with something Ziggy-style.

What I'm saying is they had the perfect chance to just make Fred Durst: The Protoframe. :story:

If we're on the topic of characters we don't like, I just don't get why Nora Night is a thing and immediately muted her radio chatter in the orbiter. I don't know how someone who gets glassed by a lone Orokin era serial killer (or whatever the fuck) manages to dodge all of Narmer during the New War (which is a mess of a story in itself).

Probably because glam rock attire looks very "queer" and their top priority was to include another tranny frame.

Gotta have at least one strong independent black woman.

From almost the beginning of his interactions I immediately started to headcanon the whole "they" thing as though it were a Xaku-lite situation, considering it always involves two "people" (Flare and Lizzie) who literally cannot be separated by now. Otherwise though, he's fine enough as a character. I'd still rather deal with him than fucking Kaya.

Nora is just a blatant reference to the DJ from 1979's The Warrior.

Yeah. It feels like a lot of nu-frame is just out of place references and that if you get them it just feels stupid.

I beat Jade Shadows recently just to do the operation, it was okay I guess. A Warframe giving "birth" still feels contrived and weird. Up next is Old Peace I suppose

She was added back in 2019 around the time Fortuna was added. She was literally added closer to the game going Open Beta than to current day.

Most of the lore behind it requires you to dig into things.

I also found it strange to have a prog song in this context, it just doesn't match

Pretty sure that's meant to be the case, the "they" refers to the duo of Flare and Lizzie, his sentient guitar. I don't think Flare is even supposed to be non-binary.

I did the quest when it came out, and I was also confused. Because a lot of related lore was apparently in Teshin's room on the relay for some fucking reason, as written entries attached to Jade's feathers on her tribute/grave site. Which I found out only months later.
Essentially, she was already pregnant when they turned her into a warframe as punishment. Birthing that child was by all means impossible, but Jade basically endured for centuries to give her everything in order to make it happen in spite of everything.
I didn't like that story much either, not in the least because of the uncharacteristically compassionate Corpus captain, who just let potentially one of the most expensive assets in the entire system to slip away. Corpus is defined by their greed, and one wouldn't get so far in hierarchy without being an exceptionally shitty person. So the way Captain Xeto handled that whole situation is completely out of character. She would do everything to secure both the child and Stalker who was on the back foot, and put them both in the freezer.

As far as fucking up lore goes, the Old Peace is going to give you a headache.

Yeah it's very uncharacteristic of the Corpus, especially someone under the wing of Granum. It feels like they wanted to make it some sort of odd "fellow women know" sort of thing? I'm not sure how to put it but it wouldn't override the raw greed of having both Stalker and the only ever labubuframe instance of a Warframe giving birth in the mitts of the Corpus.

I fully expect more retarded gay grandpa shenanigans, don't worry. I remember the days of quests being little snippets of story rather than dumb shippershit (that I originally missed in Hex/etc because I was both blackout tired and drunk when I played the quests first showing gay grandpa shippershit). I know the writers were definitely Tumblr users just because they're the only weirdos I know of that are into old man yaoi for some reason.
I guess the only plus side is Marie, very sad that she's French though.

The Old Peace doesn't have any of that going on again, aside from Loid simply being present and directly assisting Lotus and the Tenno at the Sanctum Anatomica. For the most part, that quest is just meant to be a series of Old War flashbacks for the Tenno and some more lore-dump regarding the Orokin and the Sentients together.

I'm almost 100% certain Flare talks about going by they/them prior to being infested. Adding Lizzie into the equation just makes it extra retarded and gay.

They were so eager to rip off the Children of Men, they forgot to make it make sense

They hired some female romance writer for this shit, and in turn she hired a team of people to make it happen. The very idea of these people getting paid is giving me hives.
