Huh. And I was considering getting into this game. I'd just played the first bit of the tutorial last night and was thinking of giving it a proper go this weekend.

This has me wondering whether I should bother...

It's a pretty good game tbqh. Don't let the drama dissuade you. It's a really good example of "F2P" done right. Plus slide jumping everywhere at the speed of light is really damn fun.

Also I can get banned for saying "traps are gay"? Good to know. "Nigger" doesn't seem to be bannable to my recollection however. Priorities guys.

Man, I love warframe. I always played it on my ps4 from time to time but I never knew all this autism was happening. Good find.

All I wanna do is just play as a pretty pink princess Nova Prime with butterfly wings while being near impervious to damage with my continuously regenerating Null Stars through the Molecular Fission augment giving me damage reduction on top even more damage reduction with Arcane Guardian, man.

I took the hit so y'all don't have to. "Traps are gay" is an instant chat ban. IMG_20190203_160150589_BURST001.jpg

Well I was going to install the game again but not anymore.

Also, what the fuck is up with people being mods for video games now days? Back in my day we didn't give a shit what was said to us. We just fucked with you in kind before banning you. Sometimes with a literal ban hammer.

As good as an read this was, I find it depressing on how fast people are welling to bend over for troons.

Some random loser's words on the web ain't going to kill them.

So that's why I've seen so many kicks lately, huh. Well, as a skeleton I can only say one thing: The Ride Never Ends.

It would make for a fascinating study into how exactly the same kind of assholes seem to magically worm their way into positions of power like chat moderation. The usual incestual web of collusion only goes so far into explaining how it encompass an entire industry even after Gamergate. There has to be some kind of skill set or talent they share in common.

I blame the misguided people who promoted them.

They need to retain their customers and believe that harassment and discrimination will quickly scare them off, so the best person for rooting this out would probably be an easily offended Tumblrina.

Why would anyone join a group they have contempt for anyways?

If you can think back to Vade, she claimed to be TF2's manifest god. This was an interesting claim because Vade barely played the game by TF2 fan standards and constantly claimed she was triggered by violence. Essentially, she hated the fucking game beyond being able to use it as a jumping off point for her shitty headcanons and slash-fiction, and yet still was declaring that she alone had the wherewithal to know what the game truly needed.

Take this entitled, retarded mindset, give them legitimate institutional power, and you get Telluric.

TelluricReports.png

The big secret about Telluric is that she's really not that different from any other Social Justice cult of personality head. Same gatekeeping mindset you saw in Vade and from a thousand other fucking lolcows. She's hallmarked, as they were, by an omnipresent desire to force her will and opinion onto others.

Telluric loves the fact that she can fuck up the experiences of anyone critical of her. She loves that she can inconvenience them or ban them outright for simply saying the no-no bad-words. Hell, she schlicks herself raw to the thought that even disagreeing with her opens up whoever to potential denunciation and banning. They don't care if they're hated, just so long as they're in charge.

Holy shit.

I just play the fucking game, what is all of this? Why must every game turn into this nonsense? (:_(

Way late edit: Wait, Region chat? Who TF can even parse that stream of retardation? I just flip to clan chat as soon as I'm logged in.

Remembered the Vade drama. Wasn't there at the time, but that was a dark saga.

Lol something like that happened? I always have a good time playing Warframe, building up my buff dragon boi - Chroma Prime but geez...game developers should notice by now that giving tumblrettes some sort of power can cause shit PR and a bad name for their product in an instant. Troons already looking like Councilor Vay Hek, why giving them a spot in the team in the first place? It's always trouble with people like these, it will not change.

Though, Telluric's Vorpost is fucking amazing but nobody gets close to the sass and annoying charm of "Salad V".

Warframe's community managers have always been shit, even before people like Telluric were around.

Back during Tethra's Doom (I think), Warbros (the 4chan clan, who had won almost every event) figured out an optimal method to win the event. DE patched the game, twice, to prevent them from winning, since the method involved making a bunch of new accounts. Warbros still won, of course.

Then there was the unfair banning of Wiawyr, Warbros' leader.

Warbros required aspiring members to post "Warbros #1" in the Warframe forums. At the request of DE, and to prevent forum spam, this was later ammended to posting a useful, on topic comment with "Warbros #1" somewhere in it. When the rule was ammended to prevent spam, they claimed it violated their "can't use the forums to recruit clan members" policy, which was really just an excuse to ban the leader of a clan that had long criticized their decisions regarding game balance, events, and the like.
People, of course, complained, which led to forum bans, and Wiawyr's username being censored in the forums.

Eventually this led to Warbros withdrawing from future events, with several oldfags leaving and the clan being turned into a noncompetitive shell of its former self. I'm not sure how the clan is today, but it's probably filled with the kind of people who use Reddit and Discord habitually.

RIP my nigga Wia
Warbros #1

I thought only furries were horny for power in social context, such as demanding mod across every subreddit and Discord imaginable, but I guess troons find it appealing too.

Any cow with a sufficient persecution complex seeks power in this way just so they can try and get one over on the people who fucked them over to begin with.
It's called impotent rage, and it's what leads to shitty cops, shitty politicians, and really any other shitty person in a position of authority.
These "poor persecuted minorities" love the rising erection in their girlcocks when they finally get a wrench on their names, but at the end of the day, they still have to confront the fact that they're pathetic.

...and so, we laugh...

With the AllTheFoxes drama, people found out that he was a former Reddit powermod (an old archive of him shows he was a mod of a bunch of subreddits) who had gotten demodded from /r/gaming after his role in the Remove Horror saga when he deleted posts to cover for Horror. Discord literally hired a Reddit moderator to moderate their service and Reddit moderators are even more hated than 4chan's janitors. Chances are they hired him based on his experience and not his reputation.

There's probably a bit of diversity hiring here or there in the industry as well.

As for how it encompasses things after GamerGate, it's because not a lot has changed to be honest after GamerGate. It sped up the death of "genres" like walking simulators and a very specific "indie clique" but itch.io is still full of hipster crap. I also remember that the only lasting thing that happened to game journalism was that journalists started writing about how "I'm friends with the developer of this game I'm promoting" at the very end of articles and I haven't seen those messages in a while in gaming journalism (I've still seen them elsewhere at times, like in financial website articles) so I'm not sure if that's changed.

One friend I know who had pals in the industry told me that the Western gaming industry is swamped with far left political views and he's not wrong. Look how hard Anita was being shilled to the point where she was giving speeches at game developers left and right and the latter was before GamerGate. Look at Randy Pitchford's bigot song or Tim Schafer's sockpuppet. When you have these kinds of people at even the top of studios, you're going to find people like Dina or the Warframe mods running communities, and anyone who doesn't share those views is going to remain silent. They know what happened to Simon Chylinski, they know what happened to Tim Soret, and they know it's not worth being blacklisted and losing a job over.
