I'm glad they will also ban Misan's account now for years of using a hateful username.
After all, DE is known for their consistency and lack of nepotism.

You can just tell some LARPing commies at DE did this, it's irrationally punitive.
Like I said, I'm fairly convinced a literal Tankie made this decision. Warframe ToS states that if you have an offensive name on something, DE will change it and warn you to fix it. This was 0-100 permaban with no contact at all. There's not even the inkling of rationality behind this kind of decision.

A guy named Spencer Campbell decided to make a Warframe-inspired TTRPG named FRAME,and made a small 2.5k Kickstarter for it. Then redditors noticed, started screeching at him and DE,causing Spencer to lock all his social media accounts down for a day so he could emotionally recover.

It would need some redrafts and redesigns, but I would honestly give it a try because the concept sounds fun. Shame that reddit destroyed yet another potentially fun thing.

Why are people so weak nowadays? I got screeched at numerous times for shit I said, but always laughed it off. Some peeps take internet way too seriously.

Now that's a reddit moment.

In fairness to the mob, this guy had outright ripped off at least one design (mag) and a fair share of descriptions (volt, rhino, apparently) verbatim from the game; at some point the line between "inspired by" and "blatant ripoff" gets crossed, this is one such case.

Come on, there's inspiring yourself in the feel and design of a game and then there's this.

I'd say he can get bent to be entirely honest, trying to profit from an IP that isn't his own by pretending the mere utterance of "inspired by" is a free pass, the cringe bonus round and locking down his twitter to damage control paint a clear picture to me.

Motherfucker, you leave my waifu Mag out of this.

Tell me, how does a community manager get promoted to creative director?
It's the final 'fuck you' from Steve, who'll disappear into the Canuck wilderness with all the platinum bucks he can carry, never to be seen again.
It's funny though. Person who's most suggestions, even tiny ones were shot down by the team became the lead creative for their next title. You can fully expect something ridiculous to come out of this, since she's a bloody furry-enthusiast. Werewolf fram- I mean powers confirmed.

As with anything else in DE: nepotism.

I do wonder what it took for Steve to let go of Warframe. That game has been his baby for a decade and I'm not sure if he views it as "finished" given that it's technically still in beta.
Though then again it may as well be finished because any and all developments post-New War don't matter because "infinite possibilities lmao".

Probably a promise he will have a significant role in the development of Soulframe. Which will have the same result as Warframe.
It continuous to baffle me that after years of horrible decisions they still retain enough shills to keep forking out their money for this empty husk of a game.

I think the beta tag was sneakily removed at some point, it's just perpetual development now, it's never going to be "finished", though I'm all but finished with it.
The New War was a disappointment, aside from the few neat moment, incoherent plot with idiotic drama and MacGuffins.

It must've been arduous working on the same game for almost a decade, at least two if you count the original vision that became the Dark Sector.
It's funny, I was accused of sexism and got downvoted into oblivion on their subreddit for expressing doubt considering these changes, I guess that was to be expected.

I assume it was removed alongside the whole "oh if Warframe leaves beta we reserve the right to wipe everything on your account" bit in their TOS because I've been told it would violate some consumer protection laws.

How anybody can still take them serious after New War is an utter mystery to me.
They basically wasted years of prologue setup in favour of having the BBEG just being a powerhungry caricature and then proceeded to explain it by saying a "linear view of time is outdated". Legit some of the most juvenile writing I've seen in a game.

I haven’t touched the game in years. I got Mesa Prime, got her to where I wanted her and considered the game finished. They started losing me when the open world stuff came into play, then another open world part and I called it quits.

I read later on at some point you could swap skills from frames, and when they looked at the graph for which were the most used, they started smashing the nerf-hammer on those. I don’t know how much of that is accurate and how much is victim of hyperbole but if it’s true, that is some shitty fucking game design.

Part of me has been wanting to go back a few times, see what is new, see the new frames and try them. But as soon as I am on my ship, without any clear direction of what is new or what has changed in all that time, I just log off and forget about it.

I had a buddy inform me about the new game, and the first thing I thought was that after years of trying to call Warframe everything but what it is, Soulframe at least has the decency to admit it's a MMO right out of the gate.

I do like the actual fantasy style more than the science fantasy of its predecessor, but if history is any indication, DE won't be able to leave well enough alone. If the core gameplay loop is good, I expect it to turn into infinite grind hell within 3-5 years, 2-3 otherwise unless they completely screw the pooch. Also, my bet is that the writing will be warm dogshit and chat mods/devs/Pedditors will powertrip even faster than before and run off at least a quarter of the player base within the first year.

It's because they managed to successfully sell the idea that Warframe is not P2W because you can grind for weeks to get one of the dozens of currency needed to build one of three parts of something that takes twelve hours to make the one piece and three days to make the combined result.

If this kind of set up was in a mobile game we would rightly regard it as P2W nonsense that no one should put money into. But because DE managed to sell the idea that the weeks of grind is something that can be meaningfully done by the average player they don't get called out on it.

And if you wanna pay Prime Access is there, all nice and conveniently. I always hated how a certain demographic of the community praises the design of Warframe that you have to go to a wiki to piece together where warframe of weapon plans drop, but DE never could be bothered to properly implement that wiki in the game.
