With the second anniversary of George Floyd becoming a literal Saint / borderline deity for certain people the wokeshitton post is now trying to plant the seed of disinformation: George Floyd was shot and killed.

Of course this was quickly baaleeted after various people pointed out the obvious lie. For example:

The Post now put up an updated tweet:

Obviously the replies are colorful:

Today we honor Rosa Parks. Rosa was born a slave and had her foot cut off for trying to run away. Luckily for her, she later was able to invent peanut butter. Despite now being wealthy, she only had one foot, so she had to take the bus. The bus driver was abilist and didn't let her sit in the handicapable seat up front.

can't wait for next year's article of "kyle rittenhouse drove to a poor black neighborhood with a rocket launcher, raped saint floyd and then killed him, 420 other blacks, and 6 million jews"

They didn't get the first name of a midwestern city councilman wrong, or mistype a tricky word. It's not a scientific error like the space shuttle traveling faster than the speed of light. This was one of the most important news stories of the past two years in the US. Maybe the past decade. Something that they reported on countless times. And they made a factual error on the one point of the story everyone knows.

And the correction doesn't use standard English. "Changed after publish." Is this one of those intentional errors that typesetters use (e. g. lede), or does the intern writing tweets not know how English works?

psssst....
....don't take the weak bait.

I guess they weren't kidding when they said we are now in a post truth society.

Facts are racist bigot! Get with the times! What happened is what WE say happened.

Lolz

Well, this was basically the closing argument of the DA in the Chauvin trial.

>ignore the facts
>listen to your emotions
>do the right thing

Just stretched out over 90minutes or however long that dragged on

WE all know they would have ran with it and then added embellishments the next time it comes up.
2020: George Floyd was knelt on until he died.
2022: George Floyd was shot.
2024: George Floyd was shot execution style while pleading for his life.
2026: Gorge Floyd was tortured and murdered in front of his screaming, crying mother.

You dont get passes on poor quality control just because you move lots of product. This is what your editorial staff is supposed to be for. So either none of them even looked at this before okaying it or they were stupid and got it wrong just like the author did. Either way its a fundamental systemic failure of the organization that diminishes their credibility (not that WaPo had much to begin with)
