Uh, what's that supposed to mean? What's a "diversity consultant" supposed to be, someone who whines on creators' ears like this bitch wants to do? Again, this is more than a bit suspicious and it makes me think OP may be lying their ass off. Then again, if OP is lying it wouldn't be the first time that "fans" create massive lies about the creators of their favorite series after they don't get what they want.

It's starting to sound a lot like the cartoons of the 80's that had to have "Educational Consultants" involved. I was hoping we were past that by this point.
 
Voltron is the perfect example of "checking off your boxes, just not the right not way".

Legend of Korra and Adventure Time had terrible endings too; the reason they get a pass is because they had the fan favorite couples hook up during the finale.

I can guarantee you that had Lance and Keith got married, Voltron would be praised as this bold and daring show, beloved by all. It's all so transparent.

Nah, now near all the fans complain about Shiro and Keith not being together because OMG THEY’RE SO CLOSE IT CAN ONLY BE ROMANTIC LOVE. Which makes me almost glad they did NOT go for Sheith, it would’ve validated the nearly homophobic “people of the same gender and ESPECIALLY men can only care that deeply for one another if they’re in romantic love” bullshit that these “fans” spew 24/7

Voltron’s problem isn’t it’s rep, it’s the cancerous fanbase it amassed. And judging from She Ra, that cancer is going to spread.

This will keep happening as long as shippers exist and shows that are right up the cancerous fanbase continue to be made. Look at how people hopped on from Steven Universe to other shows.
 
Voltron was always about hopping onto trends to make a quick buck. Golion was trying to cash in on the "combining mecha" trope while the reboot is trying to appeal to the "everything has to be gay" crowd.

You'll notice it never dawns on the enraged shippers just how fucking creepy their Shiro/Keith fantasies are? Nor do they grasp how much it plays into the absolute worst historical stereotypes of gay men. As creepy child grooming pedopervs. Shiro was Keith's teacher. Keith was a teenager. Why don't we just slap a Catholic Priests collar on Shiro and complete the sick fantasies?
