Gonna be on every console, plus steam. Also some art assets have been updated. Including some "assets".

It's also based on the Steins;Gate Elite script which has about 30% of the script cut. If it's just a 1:1 remake of Elite with new sprites I don't really see the point in this being made but I like some of the new Moeka sprites. Hopefully there's a catch here or something new.

There is apparently a new ending. As for new stuff, Christina got an upgrade

I like Huke's artstyle still but idk I miss the kind of grimy, moldy look all the sprites have. It's too clean now, it's like they've sanded off all the grime. Also everyone goes up a cup size or two every subsequent entry after S;G, by the time they remake 0 Maho is going to be a D cup.

Nigga look at Daru. Bro is a mega chungus

Since people brought up Stein's Gate I want to talk about the Ladder system of VNs, where the game is a linear story with the heroine routes being early exit points for an ending. It was the case for Eustia and rare for VNs. It's advantage is that there is no real common route with a massive split, so the writing and branching is relatively easy. The issue is that it forces you into "character episodes" that can be completely disconnected to the main plot, and some characters disappear until they are needed back. Stein's Gate has two great examples of when it works really well and when it sucks literal balls.

The good case - Amane:

Flows really well into the story to the point I (due to not understanding the route system) didn't understand why I got an ending credits.

The bad case - Luka:

"Let's stop the plot so we can have a gender bender no homo segment".

Soul vs. Soulless.

Its actually unreal how much I hate it. They need to take sci adv out back and put it to rest at this point. They won't though, so get ready for Steins;Gate Re:Boot:Re:Load in 5 years when their next project tanks. Edit: I really hate how they get rid of Mayuri's spiky hair; it was a unique point of contrast to have on such a friendly character. 0 did it to and sucked there, but then again that whole fucking disaster needs to be thrown into the fire.

It's amazing how much Steins;Gate was lightning in the bottle, none of the others come close to it (I'd say Zero is the second best but there is a big gap there). Chaos;Head was a mess though it was intriguing here and there and you had to deal with a pretty disgusting protag for most of it. And Robotics;Notes was just shit, my god did I hate everything from that game and it killed any interest in any future projects from the studio.

The original Steins;Gate artstyle has an ethereal air to it that all other versions seem to butcher and wasn't even kept for Zero. Good thing I got the original and not elite.

Huke's artstyle basically started, for a lack of a better term, getting rounded off right after with BRS. His first work vs everything else getting standardized for production basically.

On the road to danganronpa v3, finished udg and the 3 anime.

It was better than I thought it would be. I thought it would be mid-bad, but it turned out to be surprisingly alright. I liked the much smaller cast of characters because it gave Komaru and Toko a lot of screentime, as compared to DR1 and 2 where one of my major complaints is that there is just not enough time to give an entire class adequate development. Even with the 5 kids counted as main characters, what’s still under half of a DR class. I played the game in roughly 45 minute chunks because that was about as long as I could go before I started to get bored of the gameplay. It was serviceable, but I would have rather been playing Dead Space. The presentation was really good, I especially liked all the menu illustrations.

Chapters 1 and 2 I found not very interesting in terms of plot, so I guess its time to talk about chapter 3. I had no idea what I was in for. I’m almost willing to go bat for this chapter. Almost. Its the retarded shots of Kotoko’s underwear that makes me not want to bother defending CH3. I already know there are going to be a lot of moralfags on youtube or reddit or whatever talking about how the minigame and Kotoko’s story is le heckin bad and problematic mm’kay, but I think there is merit to it. Chapter 5 was the best part of the game, particularly the section between last 2 bosses. I like that the game makes you choose whether to break the remote or not and doesn’t give you any help through a side character or something. My gamer/storytelling sense told me not to destroy, but I didn’t have a real reason at first. I did sort of figure out the whole war thing before it was mentioned though. Before they brought up the bombs in the helmets, I realized that the kids would die without the monokumas to defend them, which was why I kept choosing not to break it. That whole scene with the controller was really good and almost justifies the entire game. I also liked it because it was just a straightforward visual novel section at that point. I see why some people wouldn’t like this game. I’m not in a rush to replay it or anything, but I think it was overall a worthwhile entry. I did predict though after playing the first DR that we would eventually have confirmation that the tragedy was real, which was proven true with DR2 and definitely here. I’m not sure to what degree all of this undercuts the ending of the first game. Also, they quadruple down on the mind control stuff, which I didn’t like in the first game and really don’t like here. I just think the kids vs adults war could come about in a more intelligent way. Shirokuma and Kurokuma’s plan was pretty interesting otherwise, and I wish the writers had come up with ways to get to that war other than forcing it with scifi magic. Also the yellow paint was eye rolling, forgot to put that anywhere.

I hated this. The future arc was boring as fuck because its nothing but a bunch of randos that get killed off until the plot finally goes somewhere. The environment is fucking lame too, its just some boring ass building where the power went out. The first half of despair was decent, if far too fast, and should have just been incorporated into DR2 somehow. The second half of the despair arc made me want to become the joker, and was the reason I hated this show. How the fuck is the motivation minigame infamous when this show does a FUCKING LOBOTOMY on screen. Everything I've disliked about this series, the memory theft in 1 + the offhand mention of brainwashing in 2 that is the core of the story + the fucking chum bucket helmets in UDG, was dialed up by 10^infinity. Everything this series had going for it was wiped out. The first game had a dark comedy element to it, but even though I complained that it wasn't dark enough, 3 was the worst of both worlds. It didn't have the intrigue or mystique that the first game set up around the tragedy, because apparently it was all just mind control instead of the cascade of violence starting from the 5th floor massacre as DR1 alluded to. So why should I give a fuck about anything if no one is responsible for their actions? But then it also doesn't have any of the dark comedy/fun vibes of D1 (which were in part due to the over the top executions) because all of the violence is so mundane in scale and also in a straightforward, generic anime style. I hate that they keep trying to make the outside world make sense in relation to the first game, because its destined to fail due to how goofy the first game was allowed to be due to taking place in a controlled environment and under the control of a bpd thrillseeker. This show was fanfiction made into an official production. THE VILLAIN LITERALLY WHIPS OUT A MIND CONTROL PHONE APP LIKE ITS PORN SLOP. This anime is one of the worst things I've ever seen, and anyone who claims v3 ruined the series even though this exists is a retard. There's literally nothing that can ruin it further. I have played some of the prologue for v3, and my suspicion knowing the ending is controversial is that danganronpa is going to be revealed as a failing tv show and everything else that happened so far will be retconned into being fake. Based on this show and its consequences, it won't even matter. This show managed to do something I didn’t think would happen, which was make me not even care that Ibuki was revived.

The anime was just so brain meltingly bad that I've lost most of my interest and have to take a bit of time off from it. If I go into v3 right now, I'm not going to judge it fairly.

Edit: The only possible explanation for the anime being this fucking bad (other than the writer/the production was a hack job) is that it was bad on purpose as some sort of meta 4th wall breaking thing where it brings despair into the real world through due to how much it sucks and ruins everything else.

I just finished off Chaos;Head Noah a few days ago and I really enjoyed it actually. The conspiracy side of things felt way more in focus than in Steins;Gate and the antagonistic force felt way more like they were working in the shadows than in Steins;Gate (though the situation in Steins;Gate is different than in Chaos;Head, also been a bit since I've gone through Steins;Gate) along with the gang stalking stuff gave the game a really unique atmosphere that I really liked and haven't really seen elsewhere. I also personally don't have issues with Takumi and I think the story wouldn't have really worked if he wasn't an antisocial sperg and was more sociable.

It actually makes me a little sad the other games in the series departed from that sort of atmosphere but it definitely seems like they wanted to make each sub-series distinct, I'm intending to play through the whole SciAdv series though and I'm currently replaying Steins;Gate though it's been a while since my last play through but seeing how the concepts connect knowing the context of Chaos;Head is pretty neat, I'll see how Robotics;Notes and the other games go though.
