Stoicism is about living a virtuous life in harmony with nature. You can be homeless and a stoic. “Wealth consists not in having great possessions, but in having few wants” and all that
'Virtue Ethics' was Socrates, who was not a stoic.
'Dramatic Theory' was Aristotle, not a stoic.
'Featherless Biped' was Plato, not a stoic.
Marcus Aurelius was an emperor, he didn't teach any emperors (at least not successfully, fucking Commodus).

This is a weak imitation of Diogenes and his actual rhetorical prowess if you know the barest amount of philosophy.

I think the selection of the word Stoic was mostly because it looked better than Other Philosopher Who Isn't A Cynic and because Stoicism is probably one of the more widely known branches of philosophy. They certainly couldn't say The Virgin Philosopher because Cynicism is also a philosophy. And with memes you want some brevity.

The "teaches emperors" line was I believe in reference to Aristotle who did indeed tutor Alexander the Great.

And I think the meme is pretty good because it exemplifies the extremely and intentionally uncouth and shocking ways Diogenes made his points, often specifically to mock the failings of other schools of philosophy.

Diogenes was the best of all philosophers, recognizing that above everything man pretends himself to be what he really is is just an animal.

Imagine "The virgin square vs the chad rectangle" and all of the points about the square is stuff like "three points, rolls easily, constant width, round" and when questioned about it the response is "well 'curve of constant width constructed via the intersection of three circles' isn't as recognizable as square".

I'm not criticizing Diogenes. He was a good philosopher. I dislike the meme because it doesn't do him justice. Now matter how uncouth or shocking he was Diogenes never misconstrued the philosophies he criticized, which is why his critiques landed. The meme misconstrues stoic philosophy and so doesn't land, at least for me.

The virgin "words have static, unalterable definitions" vs. the Chad "words can be changed in whatever way I need to convey my message."

This would be much funnier with the roles reversed. The libertarians are already the losers in the story. It's more fun to stretch and force.

E.g.

Virgin Bear
Violates NAP
Produces nothing, wants to eat anyway
Literally shits in the woods

Chad Libertarian
Has weaponry to defend NAP, but runs away in terror because a man chooses
Knows he's just exchanging public masters for private; doesn't care
Also shits in the woods

Not even the V and C comics can make Libertarians the winners.

You know these memes are supposed to be retarded right?

>the virgin "typhoon"
has a disgusting weapon of death instead of a normal arm
ugly yellow unkept hair reflects piss poor self-image
hides his gangly body under a trenchcoat, still looks ugly
probably has diabetes from all those donuts

>SPACE CHAD COBRA
has a totally cool gun that shoots bad guys built into his body
shaggy blonde mane radiates golden confidence
every inch of him is on display especially his package
has a cigar 24/7 with no ill effects
