I don't think he's quiting Twitch streams forever, From the tone he had at the end of the video, it seems like he's saying that rigid daily streams aren't probably gonna make a return, but I feel like he'll return to occasional streams once he's ready.

In the past I jokingly wished Vinny wouldn't stream so much because it was hard to keep up with all the streams but I didn't mean like this. :(
As long as he's happy and we still get the occasional stream/youtube upload I'll be happy.

I'm completely ok with this. I wouldn't wish Twitch chat infecting your brain every day of the week on anyone, and I've been thinking for a while that Vinny's fucking 4 hours a day, 2 games a day schedule is way overloaded to the point he was getting shittier and shittier and not giving any individual game its due attention. I love his "unique" content but seeing him flop around like a retard an a normal game only sparks my autistic nerd rage. Quite frankly I'd be happy if all we ever got from Vinny was a weekly Sunday content video on Youtube.
Also seconding that sentiment about this being a wake-up call to the audience. I myself dropped Twitch altogether really easily once Vinny went dark.

Honestly, I think this is the best case scenario for Vinny and for the fans. He'll still put out content to watch, but he won't be doing it daily so that he can focus on himself and other areas of his life. It's better than him quitting Vinesauce altogether meaning no streams or youtube or anything. Maybe he'll come back to streaming one day but it seems the days of daily streams of 2 games per night for 4 hours are gone. This also means he can give games more of the attention they deserve, like Pokemon Snap 2 when that comes out. It's a win-win for everyone.

Something like this would probably breach his contract with Twitch. Speaking of which I wonder how this will affect him financially? Since streaming is his main source of income and he can't expect people to maintain their subs if he's not there.
I know streaming specifically on youtube while on contract with twitch is an instant boot, but i'm not sure about making gameplay videos while offline although i don't think he is in such a position where he needs to worry about needing to stream.
At worse he can just get a shitty job at 7/11 now that he's not taking so much time streaming every night if he needs the money bad, but as discussed before he's savvy enough in finances so i don't think his economical position is dire

Honestly the sunday streams were running little dry on content, so maybe a once a month high quality sunday stream and then just weeklyish whatever-game-im-into day streams/uploads?

Sorta was expecting this since the ny lockdown hit him hard in the beginning, awkward fucker but ultimatly highly social, and the whole "spend most of the day inside except for a walk" was wearing him down, the boredom on stream with most games was showing more and more.

I'm all for a schedule change. Joel's streams are of such consistent quality because he only streams when it's fun for him, and I hope that's what Vin starts doing. That is, if he comes back to streaming, which I'm betting he'll do for the reasons several people have already said.

If Simpleflips is any indication, then gameplay videos is cool with twitch.

Huh, not sure why I didn't think of pre-recorded streams. That honestly makes way too much sense. On the bright side I never managed to watch many live videos anyway, so this is about the same for me, minus getting to watch chat sperg. Guess I'll make do with the comment section. I think the biggest bummer is losing out on art, but I guess the Booru will still be up, so I can just check it on my own time after a video is posted?

Just glad Vinny's doing well.

The obvious answer for why he doesn’t want to do premieres isn’t a contract thing with Twitch, it’s to prevent the chat from being weird on those premieres too.

It’s already turned off when he’s not live so that they don’t get to be weird, the only purpose it would serve is for him to bounce off of but when they’re pre-recorded anyway it’s just a place for chat to be weird with no benefit.

More or less called this happening (especially with the full stream highlights going up on Twitch for that very reason) and people disagreed. Not sure why.

Good for Vinny. On top of him having the freedom of doing whatever he wants on his own time, he gets away from Twitch.

Twitch as a site is a cancerous site that continues to get more cancerous. Vinny's chat (and furfag transpam) is also cancerous and was growing in massive numbers stream by stream.

I will admit I will miss the emotes, the art/booru and the live feel of streaming, but its whatever. I predicted a June return to him livestreaming and I'm sticking with that. That's the charity stream after all.

Sucks we won't get more Monster Hunter live as well as Pokemon Snap.

I don't think he's going to quit streaming entirely, he's talked in the past about how he does genuinely like doing it and he likes the interaction with the chat. But I do absolutely see him taking another couple of weeks, maybe even a month before returning to it and cutting back to only streaming three or so times a week instead of every day.

Vinny's probably already beat Rise or got far into it, it has been nearly a month since he stopped streaming after all. He mentioned wanting to play Pokemon Snap during the Rimworld upload so I'd image he'll at least do a one off video of it.

He could always stream with subscriber only mode enabled. That would at least keep the shit starters out of chat.

Also, does Twitch cancel your partnership if you're inactive for a certain amount of time?

Like catching up on that anime backlog that's been piling up for years. :story:
This is what I'm looking forward to.

My hope is for some new fan edits / compilations / megamixes of playthroughs. I enjoy the fullsauce vids and the main vinesauce vids, but those condensed versions which are like 1hr-9hrs long are the perfect "condensed" versions of his streams imo. I just want a feature length Isaac / Gungeon / Mario Maker cut honestly

I knew someone who stopped streaming for a year, came back and was still partnered, so no.

Also, Vinny would never do sub only. He only likes subs for the emote slots and never calls them out for a reason. Him and Joel will even occasionally say "Save your money you don't have to sub to me" .

Sub only streams can be really scummy to do, especially when people don't have money to sub. Joel and Vinny are thankfully above that.

I genuinely enjoy Vinny and watched his streams in chunks if it was a game I was interested in through the full sauce channel. Dude is chill and is a great host, which is all I want from a stream. Hope he is doing well.

Yeah, I guess you're right, in the end he should just stick to YouTube. I don't know how Vinny's doing financially right now, I'm sure he's got plenty of money saved up but he's certainly going to take a big dip in finances from lost Twitch subs.
