I don't know how the narrative about GPM using the charity drive to scam chat came to be. Even some Vinny defenders on Twitter had to correct others about what actually happened.

He wasn't entirely truthful about his living situation and used his streaming clout to solict donations which is a big no no among Vinesauce members.

I have the gut feeling that people know Vinny said some no-no words back in the day, but don't give him shit about it because he doesn't chase SJW goodboy points so he doesn't attract those people in the first place (mostly). He also stays the fuck out of politics, other than general statements about the BLM protests or the Capitol Hill bumrush, and how he wants to give people a place to chill after all the nonsense.

edit: also fuck Dem. No shit Vinny ain't a saint, you'd have to be stupid to assume anyone is. Making vague statements like that doesn't help anyone. If you don't have anything worth saying outright, don't say anything at all.

If I'm not mistaken, didn't he ask for people to donate money based on "muh living situation", buy several arcade cabinets and then show them off?

Yeah, the donation money he received was used on arcade cabinets, but supposedly he said that it was "donated" to the charity.
 
Honestly, Vin is fine, just been a little horny on main which he shoudn't do. Into gay baby jail he goes.
 
Man even had another one of his hookups come out of the woodwork to defend him and call him respectful. Someone was asking earlier if Vinny is Based for all this, and while yes it's cringe to put your dick in crazy/underage, this is the first time I've seen Reverse White Knighting.
 
I wish someone would cover it. The fact that it failed so spectacularly is what makes it interesting. Not the drama itself.
 
Yes, I might simp for Vinny, but I believe there is a very unfourtunate haze between being a fan and being overly obsessive to the point your aggressively horny. Gamers, who are most likely socially inept, can easily fall into that trap and streamers get a lot of that attention, seeing how much fan-content markiplier gets or how many titty streamers get orbiters/cash-daddies. You've all seen it, okay? I think it all comes down to lack of other outlets and hyperfixation, but that's for another discussion.

Chances are most of the time when fans get their idols attention with a promise for a good time, they're fine, but the second they stopped giving them positive attention the fans bring out these allegations to get back at them and blow it out of proportions. Now people are spreading disinformation and old enemies pop out of the woodworks to try to get back at the funny pasta man.

I saw some VTuber wannabe doing a livestream of it by chance last night, but it looks like the full archived thing is over four hours long so I highly doubt it's that comprehensive or interesting.
