Also, i would like to thank Vinny and I think DesertP for turning me off the Valve Index. They both now have issues that need RMAs because Valve fucking sucks at QA, which annihilates the myth that the Index is somehow the current pinnacle of VR since it's expensive.

Eh, Vinny's always been a bit of a short term trend follower.
Given his interests and current platform he's using, job-wise anyway, it's not too surprising he'd be sharing some of his stuff to others that are curious or share the same interests despite his age. Couldn't be worse than any other "content creator" that jumps from fad to fad in my opinion. Looking at you, Cr1tical.

The conversation that sparked afterwards was interesting.
Vinny brought up a hypothetical situation about buying out Happy Meals, trashing the food and not sharing it. All the little Commie gifters poked their heads out and chat turned into: "We live in a society - Capitalism BAD" while simultaneously paying a company to access the internet with PC parts they most likely bought from several other companies, to use a platform (that has censored people for political and monetary reasons) to donate money to a funny Italian man showing off his $10 McDonalds Happy Meal cards mainly marketed towards children.
There was also a point where Vinny said something like "Wouldn't it be cool if there was a program where you buy just for the cards and give the food to people who need it" to which there was one chat member that said "Yeah, it's called Socialism".
No, that's still under Capitalism since you paid for it in exchange for the goods from that service. The utter hypocrisy of these people and their dense, uneducated, lack of self-awareness is just boggling.

Today I got re-recommended an old fullsauce video from last year in which Vinny streams a game jam game called "Wet Robot Dreams" on Valentines Day. It contains an extremely cringey and creepy comment thread wherein several of Vinny's tumblr fans speculate on his sexuality. It reminded me of the quoted post above and I've decided to put the screenshots here for posterity.

It's insane that that person got 225 likes for their initial comment speculating on his sexuality like that. Of course it's common for fangirls to think about their favorite celebrity, youtuber, etc. getting into a relationship, but Vinny is still not as big of a personality both online and irl to even speculate for that long. I've personally been guilty for thinking into that stuff myself, but to outright project onto a random 35 year old man publicly in a comment section where he could see that is bizarre. I could only imagine what kind of weird emails he gets from people like that, too.

Blame Charlie.
While I do enjoy his "Showing off my retro gaming stuff" it makes me sad that 95% of my stuff (pogs, nintendo power, and a few games) is long gone, either donated, sold, or just gone. I still have my pogey man cards though somewhere, a binder full. But I have not got cards since the early 2000s lol. Sure I don't have a shiny Charizard but I do have those blockbuster pokemon snap cards and the stickers I printed from those still on the binder.
I'm going to stop before the autism comes out.
As for Vinny's streams I rarely pop in as of late, save for Sunday as background noise. Normally I'll tune into Mario game-related ones but this time I just felt "nah." Just waiting around till he streams a game that catches my interest.

I might be super fucking late with this, but I just found out where Meat came from. 
Also, this isn't about Vinny in particular, but there's something incredibly sad about wo/men being into Pokémon stuff/"nerdy" things over the age of 32 or so. Always comes off a bit weird, like there's something missing they're trying to replace or distract themselves from. I hope Vinny will snap back soon.

IMO it depends on what else they have going on in their lives. Part of the reason why the Chris chans and Kevin gibeses of the world are so embarrassing is cause they literally have nothing else going on in their lives than sitting on their asses and consooming media made for children, unlike people such as Vinny who have other interests too and IRL normie-leaning friends with whom they can just talk about normal adult stuff.
He's even mocking himself about it, he knows how ridiculous it is. It's also one of those things where when your friends are into it (as he's mentioned), it's easy to just dip in so that you have something to discuss, rather than doing it for the sake of the cards themselves - how many times have you bought a game to play with friends that you would have had no interest in otherwise, and never touched it again after your friend group gets bored?
