Joel certainly gets laughs out of streaming, but he only streams once a week if not less. No idea what's up with that.
My bets are either on some music work \ playing games \ or just drinking his ass off. Dont' know about the latter honestly, but many times he barged onto 8acon streams or into VC (pretty frequently actually) he was pretty damn drunk. The rattling of beer cans on the table just added up to the picture.

And in order to get the link for vineyard, you need to be in the VS discord. I left the discord long ago due to the autism, so any kiwis here who have the link to it can they DM me?
Don't leave us hanging.
Seconding this, I'd like it if someone could record it (I would but my computers shit) & upload it to MEGA/Google Drive/Torrent.

Feels like streaming has become less fun to him and he can't laugh at things like he used to. Probably a combination of insulting something someone likes, and more topics having some drama attached by the day. I remember just a year or two back he used to talk about stuff like what podcasts he listens to, including JRE, and he just gradually stopped.
Wouldn't surprise me if over a decade of streaming was starting to wear on him right now. The past couple of streams have really not been too interesting for me.

Dunno if this was posted, will delete if late, but Zeurel finished and posted another Joel animation 2 days ago, its pretty good

Has anyone else been having that weird sensation for the last 3 months or so where Vinny feels "too old to watch"?
Like, sometimes he'll play something and instead of considering it funny, you just kind of feel as if someone's dad was playing it and you stop being entertained?
I don't know, considering he's approaching 40 there's just something that feels off whenever he plays games now, like a sad kind of aura.
Sorta', though that may just be me getting burned out tuning in to the streams nightly. It also depends on the games he streams as well as his attachment to them, I feel. The whole Covid situation too has been affecting his sanity a bit as others here mentioned. Dude's a social butterfly at heart.
The Twin Snakes stream in particular had some fun shitposting moments, quips and jabs at Vinny's past MGS streams, but after a while some of his shticks were hit or miss and sometimes would get just a little too goofy/tumblr-y for my taste it did kinda' come off like a dad commenting on a game. Though, since it was a Kojima movie game that he's technically already played it's not out of the ordinary to entertain in some way and turn the playthrough into something different/your own thing, if that makes any sense.

Vinny's more engaged with action heavy (Devil May Cry, Bloodborne, Tetris 99) and slower paced games (Subnautica, Silent Hill 2, Minecraft) that I personally feel are some of his best streams that come to memory.

Origami King was one of his best runs I've watched in a while, so that checks out.

Depressed, cynical Vinny is coming back. Looks like KINO is back on the menu boys!
Only if the slight edginess comes back with it, and that's impossible these days. *sigh*

This is entirely my shitty opinion based on my extremely low tolerance of "pretending to be funny by making dumb noises and screaming at random," but I've been feeling the exact same thing for a while.

I stopped watching Vinny regularly when he wouldn't go 10 minutes without throwing out a dink meme or some other WhAcKy noise to entertain the masses. That was about 3 or 4 years ago and since then it has gotten worse. The last stream of his that I genuinely enjoyed was Hylics 2. Everything else is of games that don't interest me in the slightest, meh, or so bad that I had to shut it off. He's very quickly becoming tryhard-with-a-million-subscribers level of obnoxious and knowing that he used to be a lot more natural saddens me.

I blame it all on the ever-changing community guidelines of both twitch and youtube. I swear the dumbasses that run those sites don't have a single clue on what a joke is.

I wasn't as big of a fan of Joel Orders a Pizza, but this one is downright incredible visually.

The way Zeural drew the Nun with the classic 90's cartoon mom hourglass figure makes me pine for simpler days.

As far as the topics at hand go, I've felt burnt out on streamers in general, lately. I can't watch Vinny for more than an hour or so without my eyeballs rolling out of my skull and Jerma is pandering hard to the degen Twitter coomers in chat with his constant vtuber "crossovers" and the catboy shit. Joel is the only one I feel doesn't grate on my nerves and he's basically semi-retired. I usually watch old Panoots vods when I'd usually fill the time with newer streams, anymore. Maybe that means I'm the one getting old.

And I love all of Joel's music, parody or otherwise. The guy's voice isn't incredible but he's a lyrical motherfucker and can pop out a catchy melody like Nintendo pops out the daily Kirby game.

As immature as his style is, Joel's the only one who's unashamedly doing whatever he wants and having fun. That kind of energy is super super contagious to me as a viewer. He could do the dumbest bit I've ever seen and I'd still just be happy to see him chuckling to himself about it. I think his personality and style only work as a "semi-retired" streamer because it's like it's building and building for days and he just gets to let it all out on his own terms. He'll spend a week prepping bits for a special stream, making videos, music, OBS layouts and it's super worth it because it usually ends up giving everyone something new and original in his own style

Vinny on the other hand streams 6-7 days a week and it shows in that he veers often into the formulaic and the mundane. His in-jokes have been recycled for years and most of the "prep" for his streams appears to just be having mods test and screen if something runs and then just jumping in until he punches out for the next game. I like him a lot but it's more of a pastime to tune in compared to Joel whose streams are a super nice surprise.

If Joel actually did retire from streaming what do you think he'd do for money? I honestly can't imagine him wanting to work any serious job for a long period of time.
From what he has said about his housing situation late last year, he is still paying borderline student rent rates. Plus he doesn't wish for a larger space, due to his lifestyle. So in terms of work, he could easily do something part-time to cover overheads. His eating habits are on par with a student too, considering he's often drinking Pepsi at 7am GMT+1

To my recollection, he's already been approached more than once by some company or other regarding a contract for his music. He's got niche name recognition, which means guaranteed profits (in a lesser capacity, of course, but it's still pretty much a guarantee that people will buy his stuff) and enough e-celeb pull to keep working behind the scenes. For example, he's pretty fantastic at video editing to the point that he edited almost every Vinesauce highlight pre-2014, and even now I think he still occasionally edits videos for Vinny and other streamers he's friends with. He could easily make a career off of that from bigger content creators who'd rather pay someone to edit than do it themselves. That'd also enable him to continue living the same lifestyle.

I think Joel would do just fine if he decided to retire, but I don't think he would go back to "regular" jobs. He might do something on the side to make a little extra cash, but I can't imagine he'd willingly work somewhere office-y or anything public-facing, given that he definitely has face recognition (though I'm not sure how many of his fans are also Swedish).

Oh definitely. Speaking of face recognition though, it's kindof funny how most of the fanbase still draws \ views him as the guy, looking like an image from early days of vinesauce, long hair and all.

Some photos were leaked on 8acon's and he looks like a thumb now. I guess it's no wonder he doesn't do facecams \ face reveals anymore.

Edit: found massively cropped image, still works though:

He barely did them even when he still had long hair; I can only think of a handful of times he went on cam, and it was always for like 5 seconds. I think the fact that that one very old picture of Joel is pretty much the default image people use when talking about him means most people don't even know he's bald now, so that's why they still draw him like that. Funny enough, though, he's always making that same goddamn >:( face in pictures, even in more recent ones I've seen.

You actually just reminded me that Joel still has a huge backlog of facecam incentives from the charity streams that he's never going to do. I'm still perplexed why he'd even promise it knowing he's not gonna do it.

I love how Joel has transformed into the anti-DSP
>Gives hard as fuck games a chance
>Most of the time he manages to beat them out of sheer stubbornness
>Whenever its too much he defaults to blaming his lack of skill rather than the game (unless its complete bullshit like barbie)
>Streams completely ridden of the typical interruptions of subs, donations, etc.
>Actively discourages them
>Suggest people save it for charity
>Constantly engages chat and has fun answering both shitpost and genuine questions
>Absolutely no politics (besides the occasional harmless shitpost like Obama)
>The only thing he shills is his own band and charity, and even that only occasionally

It's like DSP is a failed clone of Joel, godbless this man and may he live long
