Pretty good list. I don’t like Origami King that much and New Horizons doesn’t deserve all of its praise, but it still manages to be one of the better games this year.

It feels like Vinny has an autistic compulsion to acknowledge shit that he shouldn't. He's already been over the KH stuff, but for someone who doesn't like inciting autistic anger, he sure does like to constantly read chat and start going off about the thing he supposedly doesn't want to talk about because people will get angry. He did the exact same shit with Sonic, too. For a guy who's been around on the internet since he was a teenager, he sure hasn't learned to not talk about certain things when he's already went on about how people get angry at him for it. Honestly, I'm exaggerating all this a bit, but fuck, Vinny is frustrating sometimes.
 
I think you're taking his discussion about it a little too seriously. At this point, he genuinely doesn't care if people get autistically mad about a video game he has no interest in and would rather poke some fun at. Sure, he'll probably get some angry(laughable) emails. People are going get autistic no matter what he's talking about though.
Id rather him being openly honest about how he feels when it comes to a video game series then worry about people getting offended over it.

Not entirely related to this current conversation but while trying to catch up on some streams I had set aside I went back to begin watching the puyo puyo tetris 2 streams but god damn this is unbearable. One of my biggest pet peeves is witnessing someone bitch and moan about something they could easily fix, so I'm just going to skip these streams if all he does is whine about the intentionally goofy story sections when he could easily hit the skip button and be done with it.

They're pretty brutal streams. At least he realized relatively quick that he wasn't feeling the story, but man, his displeasure during it was very notable. I didn't think it was that bad, but I'm biased weeb trash.

I agree, and I'm fine with him being honest, but it's just annoying to then hear him bitch about how doesn't like people getting angry at him when he CHOOSES to acknowledge that stuff and talk about it. Like hearing someone complain about having no money when they keep buying 5 10$ scratch tickets.

This is also what I was talking about when it comes to how frustrating he can be sometimes. I get it, stupid anime shit; you don't need to do a play by play. Laugh at the funny bits but if you don't give a shit then move the fuck on.

Vinny is right though. The Kingdom Hearts series is so long and convoluted for a new person to get into. You have to play all the games to get the story. It doesn't help that the numbering system is all fucked up (358/2, 1.5, 2.5, 2.8 ). It looks so weird to a newcomer.

You aren't wrong and neither is he, but the .5 games and stuff are just HD remasters of previous games. All things considered though, the first game is pretty straightforward because, you know; a completely unexpected crossover that may crash and burn so don't set up a bunch of stuff in case the game sells terribly, which it didn't.

As someone who got into the series right before Kingdom Hearts 3 came out: he's absolutely right. Between playing 1, 2, Birth by Sleep, and then watching videos of nearly everything else to understand what was going on: it took 100+ hours of time to do so while doing only some of the side stuff in the games I played. And even after doing so, guess what: I STILL DIDN'T COMPLETELY UNDERSTAND IT. Partially because the plot is still confusing, but also because there was apparently a MOBILE GAME that had come out in Japan only right before KH3 released that also explained part of the plot. Since KH3 has came out, there's also been a rhythm game that, you guessed it, is also plot relevant. In short: the characters are fun, but the plot is long, confusing nonsense.

Also worth pointing out is that Vinny has said in the past he's not a big Disney fan - he's on the record as saying he's only ever seen a handful of animated Disney movies iirc. So one of the biggest reasons to play the games is kind of a non-factor for him. He'd enjoy the gameplay and get a bit of enjoyment out of the FF characters as well as the absurdity of having Donald and Goofy as party members, but I think the series wouldn't click for him even if he did try just the first game.

I miss Vinny insulting chat members. Wish he'd start calling more people out for their faggotry, at least more than he does right now.

Anyways, do you really want him interrupting the stream everytime a chat member gets their panties in a twist? Cmon.
I don't have a problem with him calling out chat on their autism, but if he starts focusing on that more than he does vidya, then its not going to be very fun is it.

I don't want Vinny interrupting the stream every 2 seconds to call someone a twat but he has this very passive aggressive non committal way of dealing with criticism that slightly irks me. If you're going to call someone out in the first place don't try to sugar coat it.
