Joel's entire star wars stream yesterday

Would someone be nice enough to elaborate? I don't feel like sitting through a VOD of a game/franchise I take no interest in so i'd appreciate a recap
Joel spent about 90 minutes to unlock Yoda in Lego Star Wars, because that's the hot meme. When he finally did get to it, I guess the scream must have been too quiet for him. He decided to make a joke out of this by cranking up the game's volumes to ungodly levels and killing Yoda over and over; He prefaced this with "this might be slightly loud".

Oh wow, might have to watch a clip of that now. Thanks!

As much as I appreciate and love small streamers who don't follow no trends.. Vinesauce and Co really do come across as absolute nutjobs and lost causes sometimes. It really does sober up my thoughts on streamers to know some Swedish weirdo with long hair is sitting up at early hours making money playing a bad, old game.

There's no reason to be angry, as long as you possess charisma you can turn anything into a job. We're past the age of Hollywood stars and Joel is in Sweden so I'm glad we get to experience him and his unique sense of humor at all.

Don't know if anyone else feels like this but I think Joel perfectly gives us the feeling that one weird friend in elementary school who turned out to be a real bro gave us that we've lost contact with when he moved away lmao

I can't even begin to state the physical reaction my body had to this entire thing. The short videos were good, but the full experience is absolutely fucking indescribable. I literally don't think I have words to explain how fucking hard I was laughing at Joel desperately trying to be heard over the music, and the brief pauses between songs where Joel would be rambling in the middle of a sentence, and the absolutely incredible BURST of sound when the song would start again. I laughed so long that I actually had to pause the video to catch my breath (and I paused at 8:30, so I had been laughing for almost 9 minutes straight). This moment is nothing short of pure genius. Thanks for almost making me a person who actually died laughing, Joel!

Vinny doing that first person FF8 battle in VR as Squall while also acting out the slicing motions was a great moment. Truly, this is gaming in 2020.

As much as I like Joel, I fucking hate how much he caters to Americans. Nothing about the Vinesauce team is western; Limes practically embodies drinking tea from the tub, yet even when Joel starts streaming at 9 AM local Swedish time, he says "tonight" about things. I'm surprised he even started streaming after 8 AM. Imagine naturally waking up in the morning, starting your stream, and naturally going "before we stop tonight :)".

It's minor but in a world where everything circles around the US, these things add up. :(

I'm from the same time zone as Joel but you have to understand that Americans make up roughly 86% of his audience if I had to guess and that's a lot. If you had a business and knew your target audience was largely Americans you wouldn't suddenly start to run Ads in Mongolia, know what I'm saying?

I'll admit, though – when he's like jerking off Americans it can get really annoying, but I've started to notice he went from "AMERICA FUCK YEAH!" to "you guys are just projecting about your shitty American internet onto my superior Euro internet lol" like in the Geoguesser stream a month ago or so. I'm glad that kind of American fanboyism stopped because it could get really annoying, but that's about it.

The feeling is mutual. It always seemed like he was joking at first about that whole MERICUUUUUH thing, but he did it for so long I think he got lost in his own loop, and it just became straightforward and obnoxious. That seems to have mellowed out around the same time that he himself started to mellow out, which I can really appreciate. I love so many things about Young Joel, but in the very beginning he hadn't really found his footing yet, so most of his jokes were just parroting/referencing things he saw on 4chan and around the internet in general, and since he started streaming at the peak of AMERICAAAA FUCK YEAH, it makes sense why he adopted that "joke" as his.

Really glad he moved past it. Nothing's more bizarre than hearing a Swede who's never been to America in his life constantly ramble about how amazing it is.
