Dont really think they exploit the games they stream.

Correct; streams are ads for the game.

Look closely at why slime girls pissed him off. Artists took a joke and used art they already made to vaguely connect it to vinesauce. In many cases the art had no connection to vinny, so it was easy advertisement for them.

You know we're talking about a guy that plays video games for a living, right?

Are you implying that Vinny is exploiting multi-million dollar corporations by... playing their games and providing free advertisement to an audience of tens of thousands of impressionable young people with money to burn?

I gotta say, I've seen some ice fucking cold takes on this site, but this one's so completely out of touch with reality, it's basically a brick of dry ice. Congrats.

The image in question only aroused suspicion because it has "Cropped?" on it. Seems like an over reaction on everyone's side.

They definitely were trying to capitalize on the fact that people would interpret the image as being pornographic and would seek out the "full" version on their own. I don't necessarily think it should've been removed from the booru, but I don't blame Vinny for not going out of his way to include it, either; they were obviously baiting viewers into seeking out their page, which is kind of a crappy reverse psychology plug for their work, and just feels a little too cheeky.

Plus, it's not like Vinny hasn't made his feelings toward suggestive art on the booru clear. Every Vinesauce fan knows Vinny's feelings about having art of that nature on his stream, so artist beware: if you're going to submit it anyway, you can't be surprised when you get deaded by the mods/when you get publicly clowned on by Vinny.

It was made apparent during the whole "Imp Vinny" saga, I think?
That was quite a while ago, I could say some ppl dont know but it should still be apparent by Vinny's personality, content on the booru already, and I think the rules are laid out on the site. What gets me is that the art in question wasn't even really Vinesauce related. I only glanced at it but it looks like the artist thought they could dump a picture they drew there and make Vinny give them free advertising.

I don't see much of a difference between a streamer making money off of a video game and an artist making money off of a video game. Either way is fine to me, but calling one "exploiting" and not the other is dumb.

The art shown does relate to Vinny's recent Spyro 2 streams, but it would be ignorant of me to say it wasn't viewer bait by how Elora was drawn suggestively.

This kind of behavior of testing the waters with NSFW/slightly lewd booru art has been happening since Tomodachi took off on the site, but artists have definitely been pushing the boundaries further in recent months with the slime girl/waifu stuff. The thing is though-- even if rule #1 on the booru asks for no nsfw art, that gray area in-between sfw/nsfw is subjective to whichever mods might be online that night, so while the art that was shown wasn't explicitly sexual or pornographic, it was still suggestive and it could still fall under rule #4 of the booru: "If your art is considered uncomfortable or inappropriate to be shown during the art segment it may be removed at the moderators discretion. Just because you are comfortable with something DOES NOT mean that the streamers / viewers are." It could also fall under the "no-advertising" rule on there too, even if the artist didn't advertise their content directly under their comments.

Overall, artists finding ways to sneak their lewd work onto the booru gets old and annoying after awhile, and I'd rather not have Vinny tackle this kind of subject every few weeks. It makes him, the mods, and (some of) chat uncomfortable and annoyed, and the tenured artists/viewers should know better by now. At the same time, Vin and his mods should draw the fine line of what they all consider to be safe and not safe, so that artists have a better sense of what's appropriate to post and not have to bitch about their work getting removed.

Vinny is honest about his feelings at least. On the other hand, Joel mentioned that he learned how to lie and be lazy back in his early days of school. Nobody wants to call out Joel when he lies because he's cultivated his audience around his irony. Whenever he explicitly states "I will stream later this evening" and doesn't is clearly him being lazy or managing time improperly. He's still lying and brings up the question of how deep does this go.

We've talked about Joel's deception quite a bit in this thread, and I think that lying is basically a defense mechanism for him at this point, because he's not good at it. The fact that we're aware that he's got a tendency to lie is hard proof of that - a good liar takes ages to be found out, but any attentive fan will notice that he's been telling mistruths for years.

Honestly, I don't get as upset as I used to about the failed promises to stream because I realized he's earned this lifestyle. He worked hard to get to where he is, and is now rewarded by being able to set his schedule whenever he so chooses. He definitely should be a little more explicit about his streaming "schedule" - i.e. actually streaming when he says he's going to - but honestly, if I was in his shoes, I'm fairly certain I'd operate the same way. So I find it hard to blame him.

If there is any Vinesauce member that's most likely to develop a gambling addiction, it's Joel. I'm always annoyed whenever he starts messing with gambling mechanics in games, since that usually means he'll waste a lot of time on them.

Someone else mentioned that earlier in the thread too, and I agree. There's definitely a line between playing it up for the stream and "okay dude seriously that's enough gambling now," and Joel crosses into the latter way too often for it to simply be for the jokez. His San Andreas stream is probably the best (or worst, depending) example of what I mean - during one stream a while back, he stayed in the casino for so long, I actually saw his viewer count take a noticeable hit as people started leaving once they realized he wasn't going to stop any time soon. There are usually some dips with the horse betting, too, but I think that's a little more fun to watch so more people are willing to stay while he does it.

I just discovered Vinny's Dreams streams, and binged a handful.
Honestly, I feel like Vin is at his best with more creative games that allows user created content, like Dreams, Spore, Species, Planet Coaster, Worlds, etc. He doesn't always have the best commentary for those games but his reactions are genuinely entertaining. The only thing that tends to get to me (personally) is, as someone who is often a creator rather than a player in those games, watching Vinny fumble around in editors for hours just to place one item is a little tedious.
Would love to see him stream more of LittleBigPlanet 2 or something like that.
