Holy shit it's just art. Who gives a fuck if people draw in a shitty artstyle, what characters they draw, or how many people see the shit. Draw as many fucking pictures of whoever you want doing whatever you fucking want and post that shit where ever in the fuck you want and stop complaining.

To people who don't like that "this certain character that I don't like is getting attention, and this is a problem to me so it should stop" are equally as bad as the attention whores that want it to be known that they desperately want to fuck Vinny but don't want it to be too obvious because they are so autistic that they never shut up about how much that character is awful at the mere mention of their name and would delete their existence if they could. Everyone involved in this bullshit about the booru needs to shut the fuck up before Vinny blows a fuse and the booru in it's entirety is gone one day.
which by the fuckin way, why is Vlinny a thing??? i know it came from tomodachi life (i think??? not really into the guy's content) but why do people made a big deal out of it???
Something something """kinning""" something.
I still to this day don't know why the fuck Vlinny is getting so much negative attention. Never understood the kinning argument because I never saw anything involved with Vlinny that was soo bad that it deserved a booru ban or shit like that. 100% honest. Not even gay porn shit.

And yes I'm a bit biased because look at my fucking name, but show me proof that this Vlin hate isn't just a meme.

There was weird shit related to people writing fanfiction having sex with this character(on tumblr or AOO) and people kinning themselves as the character on tumblr.
I could've sworn there was a huge write-up by Vinny explaining his reasons for not liking the character.

I think the only reason most people give a fuss about this stuff is because Vinny openly states how uncomfortable it makes him. So when it makes a return on the booru, there are complaints. With the new rules, Vlinny is technically not allowed on the booru, so how he slips through is beyond me.
By the way, cutting off the booru has probably been considered more than once. Like I said, people should be thankful it's up.
If something does happen to it, it won't be because of community complaints, it will be because Vinny decided so.
(I won't miss it if that happens)

And yet that's a little hard for me to believe because I follow Vlinny pretty closely and, unless it's been conveniently deleted from the internet or I entered the bearstain universe at some point, I never saw anything like that on any site, including those two. What you will come across is Vinny smut and gay fanfiction as well as porn for other tomodachi characters, so I find this to be very weird that he would single out Vlinny of all characters.

I don't know. Maybe I just need closure. If I saw for myself what they were doing to Vlinny, I'd probably be less fustrated with the whole thing (maybe I'd even agree with them).

Hey I am very, very new to the site, so excuse any potential errors but... I'm a good friend of CheesyDraws and it's just been a bit, say, uncomfortable, reading the things you guys have been saying about her.

I just want to peacefully clear some things up.

Cheesy is well, an artist. A very, very good one at that, and, as you know, has a very distinct style. Especially known for the (now former) "devil hair" way of drawing Vinny. One day, she drew sauce boss. No reason, really, just wanted to, and some got inspired by this and also drew sauce boss. It ended up being a huge chain reaction of people being inspired by others drawing sauce boss to draw sauce boss themselves. It honestly became a much larger thing than I think anyone was expecting but, oh well. Everyone got their fix of sauce boss, especially Vinny, who was a bit upset over having to stay up late to look at all the art.
Cheesy just continued making art as usual, she's not some "obsessed fan-girl" like some have tried to claim, rather she just gets a lot of inspiration from Vinny and finds/found Vinny fun to draw and most people liked her style, with 1 or 2 guys in chat complaining how it was unrealistic.

The part where it really got out of hand which, I guess you could say dragged Cheesy out into the spotlight, was when others, inspired by Cheesy, also drew "devil hair". People then overreacted, probably thinking something like the whole sauce boss scenario was happening again, which in reality, it wasn't. It was just a handful (I believe it was around 5 people, I'm not entirely sure) of inspired artists doing one-off drawings of "devil hair". Chat went a bit nuts over this, out-of-nowhere starting to compare a stylistic choice (devil hair) to a... let's say, uncomfortable, character (Vlinny). The straw that broke the camel's back was when a person went onto Cheesy's Tumblr and called her a "fucking weirdo".

She then went and emailed Vinny, simply asking him if it would be best that the devil hair would stop. He did get back to her and they both agreed that it would be in both their best interests that the devil hair be, as Cheesy put it, canned.

Also, going to get this out of the way now while I (hopefully) have your attention. Earlier, one of you posted a more realistic drawing of Vinny that Cheesy made recently, saying it "Mocking the criticism as well, perhaps?" which is very untrue. As with all of Cheesy's drawings, she just did it because she could, for fun, to test her skills, however you want to put it.

Again, I just wanted to clear some things up, I'll try my best to keep an eye on this... thread? Forum? so I can respond to any potential questions.

That's fine and well, and I thank you for clearing some things up. As another person said the issue with people drawing Vinny in that style was unrelated to her, and this I wasn't sure of before in my post.

Now, I don't think anyone was making a big deal out of her for you to rush over here. As for me, I was outlining what I knew because someone asked. And when we try to put pieces together, we make mistakes. Not because I wanted to antagonize her.

I do want you to keep in mind though, especially if you are a fellow artist or someone that posts on booru: Anytime someone ends up becoming a mini-celebrity, it becomes a concern. I'm not saying she is, and some people cannot help how other people react to them, but when people on the booru start getting a following there's always the risk of them being put on a pedestal.

nah, anyone can tell she's not obsessed. otherwise, when she was put on the spotlight she would have done something real dumb (like, put the blame on vinny, go crazy/go stupid or something) instead of taking the most mature decision at the moment. thanks for clarifying, mate

Booru art has always been kinda bizarre, I usually avoid art segments to keep away from the crazy, but I appreciate the content on the thread.
___________
I've been digging through old videos for background noise, this one is nice. Vinny was more open back then.

Like I said...don't go after the people mentioned here! stop cow tipping!(And if theres people here going after El*na D, stop it. As you only give her what she wants: attention)

Like I get it it is her art and her style and I'm very sorry for being an ass about it cause the only side I saw was the "Its a discord meme! LEL BOOMER Vinny won't get it!" her art is fine, it's just like with Picrew that sadly some... unsavory lot latched on to it.

Cheezey is not obsessed, El*na D is (her alt twitter is still full of attention bait)

Thanks for coming here to clear things up @MustardPants Again I apologize about any negitive remarks about her artwork

Been lurking for a bit, blah blah, but chiming in just to answer some things, mostly regarding the Booru.
I could've sworn there was a huge write-up by Vinny explaining his reasons for not liking the character.
If this exists, I have no knowledge of it, but there was an informal statement that Vinny made during one of the art segments a couple months back regarding Vlinny and the new rules that were added around that time. You can watch that here, goes on for about 4 minutes.

To sum it up, Vinny mentions how uncomfortable it got for him when several artists would only ever submit art of Vlinny, pretty... questionable art at that. He even goes as far to bring up the whole "kinning" thing, which obviously upset said artists, as they commented about it on their tumblr blogs. Who knows why these kinnies became so attached to this character, but I can understand why Vinny/the mods don't see the relevancy in the art that they posted, leading to the new rule being made.
With the new rules, Vlinny is technically not allowed on the booru, so how he slips through is beyond me.
Well, here's the specific rule in question.
1574832835075.png

Teeechnically Vlinny art isn't completely forbidden, but it's probably the most frowned upon out of the list of examples. The thing is that the aforementioned artists would ONLY post Vlinny, or it would be a majority of their submissions. If someone were to make Vlinny art just once, it wouldn't be deleted (unless it was like, too weird or some shit). However, because of this rule, it's rare to see art of this character nowadays, and Vinny would either show it on stream with little comment or briefly throwing some shade.

Crazy how some Mii would cause this much controversy, but that's just how it is. Deep down I wish it never got this weird and Vlinny was just a normal dumb Vinesauce meme.

I think the thing with Vlinny is simply because of Tomodachi life and how easy it was as the streamer or fan to make up some random lore, and like many things, in many fandoms, it only takes a couple of autists to blow it all out of proportion and cause a flood of autism.

What sucks is I know a lot about the whole kinnie stuff but I can't talk too much in detail about it because I could be putting myself and some people I know in the line of fire. I'd kill to talk about it because what I've heard/seen is buckwild but man.
I'm quite curious to hear if there's more to it than what's on the surface. Anything at all then, perhaps the bare minimum?

I love Rev. He's got a nice voice and a friendly aura. People sleep on him in favor of Joel and Vinny, but Rev is my favorite. He seems like that cool older dude you meet at the store, who always has a cool story and you want to buy him a beer.

The closest I can come to approaching it at the most sideways angle without incriminating anyone is this Tumblr post, but most of the external links are dead.

Seems like the typical tumblr callout post then. Not a surprise at all that a kinnie turned out to be fucked in the head. Plus the phenomenon that Vlinny attracted this specific type of group thus bringing them into Vinesauce, geez. Damn shame that is, though. Condolences to you if you had to deal with any of those people.

Not me personally, but I've heard stories and then looked into it and found. Well. All that. If you look through the reblogs you can find an archive post of the kid in question admitting to all of it.

Can you post screenshots or something, and don't be afraid to name some names, please? It is encoraged thoughout this site to be as blunt as possible with archived evidence on hand. Don't make us jump through hoops to find something else entirely or it being deleted.
To be fair, Vinny is entirely responsible for that type of art being drawn. He gave Vlinny a white camisole near the end of tomodachi, remember?

It was years back if I remember, before he knew about the kinning stuff and possibly before the Miitopia streams. It would probably require a bit of digging if it hasn't been removed entirely. If I ever find it, I'll post it here. Given that Vlinny has been included in fangames( including one that's being worked on that I know of) his presence
will come and go with the wind even after the Tomodachi/Miitopia streams.
------------------
Im going to move things away from the booru stuff and ask what everyone's favorite streams in recent months are?
For me, I really enjoyed Vin's 64DD streams with Kurseby and Himbone. Something about Himbone gave me old sauce vibes and kept me laughing for a good while.

Even though it wasn't streamed live, the Active Worlds video was a nice revisit and was kind of depressing at the same time.
It reminded me about the obscure MMOs my friends would show me and play back in the early 2000s. There's bound to be more like Active Worlds somewhere.

I've been watching through the REmake streams. Enjoying those for the most part. Vinny hasn't been doing too much that interests me lately besides Sunday Stream. I've been going back and watching Joel's Signal Sim and Sims 4: Meme House videos as background while doing other stuff. The highlights of the twitch vs sm64 and the other sm64 one were great as well.
