We were just talking about old stuff and, since that was one of the earliest bouts of notable Vinesauce drama, that was something we eventually got around to discussing. Not to dredge it up or to shame anyone for what happened, but simply to get to the bottom of it. And we have, with help from the woman herself - now, unless @Oinkma gets off their ass and comes up with something tangible, that situation is over. So we can move on. No attempts to ridicule anyone here, just pure curiosity in some behind-the-scenes events.

I've seen clips from this, but didn't know what the original video was - thanks for the link! He really does look painfully uncomfortable, like he's tense as fuck and trying not to show it but making it even worse in the process. If I recall correctly, Vinny is/was a pretty big AVGN fan, so that's probably a huge part of it; no matter how big you get, there's always someone you look up to, and sitting on a couch with him playing video games is probably both horrifying and incredibly exhilarating.

I also just don't think his sense of humor really meshes with any of the other people. There is zero chemistry at all in that room. The best - and worst - example is around 28 minutes, when Vinny pulls out the old ALBATROSS joke. No one has any reaction to it at all, not even a pity laugh. It just feels like it really didn't work between them - but then again, since most of Vinny's non-Vinesauce crossovers tend to go this way, part of me wonders if it's something about him. Maybe he really is as awkward as he seems. Poor guy.
 
To summarise. Friendly reminder this is an off-topic thread, not a lolcow thread. No need to go airing peoples' dirty laundry and scrounging for drama when there's no reason to vindicate them.

He's said on multiple occassions that he's very introverted. That could be it.

Just watched said stream and holy shit. You weren't lying. Hearing him assblast chat members for no reason was especially painful. I don't understand why he would play a game that he hates this much. Can't believe I'm spending so much energy on the vinesauce thread now lol.
 
Some of my favourite Sunday streams have been on prototype games, scrapped or obscure hardware like N64DD, digital exploring, homebrew, plug & plague, etc, but some of the fun of those things are their novelty. If you did it every week - which as Vin says, resources would quickly dry up - it'd get dull.

Idk if it’s just them being documented here or whatever but he seems to be addressing the audience much more frequently these days. Doing so live is one thing and can be looked past but is it necessary for him to leave youtube and reddit comments? 🤔

Speaking of novelty I wonder if he’d ever try the book of mario google translate text mod for the thousand year door. I’d love to see a playthrough of that (although I’ve heard the google translator was naughty and snuck a blatant “nigger” in there somewhere).
 
Does there exist any kind of archive of the Chatango?
It stayed open after the switch to twitch, and even after it wasn't embedded in the site anymore, but sometime in the last few years, it was closed for good (likely because it was just another source of inane drama).
You used to be able to scroll up through all the logs of the chat (I think, it's been two or three years since I last accessed it), but now it's completely empty.
I don't blame them for shutting it down, though, since it, like the discord, seemed to just be a source of headaches, "incidents," and fires to put out.
 
Seems tonight Vinny is playing what he wants to play. Good for him, the games are not my thing(well I do wanna try Dragon Quest XI, I want to go in blind, so) but hey if he can ignore the audience (for Star Wars as that fandom is very divided and both sides would shit up chat) and enjoy himself that's great.

As for above even if there was a way I doubt there would be anything of value to dig from it.

No. Chatango has completely changed its infrastructure since then. I went onto there trying to recover my old accounts and all the old /chat pages are wiped.

I thought Vinny said some time ago that he is not playing it? Said he was just plain not interested in Pokemon anymore.

He did. He said he wasn't going to in his death stranding stream and I believe before that and, he is right in saying he was going to play it before. I don't remember the stream but when stuff about Sword&Shield was still new he did say he was going to play it.

But now its kind of become another Undertale for him. So many people are angry and divisive over it and its putting him off greatly probably because people who know he likes pokemon are reaching out to him about how he feels about it and how the "Poor Little Indie Dev" lied to people.
I think he'll play it like he says just far from the public eye where he can enjoy the game for what it is.

The dumb thing was he kept bringing it up. He already made a formal announcement earlier in the stream but kept picking out chat messages to drag the issue along further. He could've just ignored them unless they clog up the chat too much (which they weren't honestly) but nope.

It really is a shame though... I enjoyed his Moon streams, and while I'm a staunch anti-SWSH person for my own reasons I understand he barely had that much interest in Pokemon to even care. But now because of the rabid idiots on both sides of the argument he'll never want to touch the series again.

I just hope the same crap won't be happening with ACNH, though I always buy physical copies over digital but still, I haven't even started Luigi's Mansion 3 yet.

Even with Moon aside from memes it seemed like he was not into it.

Hell, I stopped playing Sun after their version of Elite 4. Just got bored.

How long till he gets harassed to play Persona 5 again?
