That is a twitch-wide meme where people pretend to be family friendly and afraid of cursing by spamming D:. You'll see it in pretty much any big stream when there's a curse word said
I feel that Hoel has been really upping his game lately, but seems like both him and Italian Joel are getting progressively worse at paying attention to playing the games. I mean, I'm aware it's for entertainment but the amount of stuff they overlook makes me a bit mental. Glad I manage to miss the majority of chat nonsense since I just watch fullsauce, watching live seems like suffering.
edit: The only thing I feel I miss out on is wherever the heck the vineyard is anymore.
Someone on reddit posted something about being banned from Discord. The original post is gone now, but Vinny's coments remain. He kinda comes across as a little bitch here, not gonna lie. I get he's annoyed, though.
I'm with Vinny on this one, it would be incredible annoying to have everyone who gets banned from the Discord come crying to you like you personally banned them. And the exceptional "Fun-RP" people would be a major scandal when it turns out there's 10-year olds doing it with middle-aged weirdos. There are good reasons to strictly police a community that has so many underage fans regardless of what the streamers say.
Once you hit a certain size, one that Vinny's and Joel's stream chats and presumably any general Vinesauce live chat has hit, actual moderation becomes impossible and you just have to set up filters and purge people where you see it. It sucks when you're the one that gets kicked for the same joke, but that's how it goes.
The only thing I'm with Vinny there is the whole why you'd even be in there bit, but that's even a copout. The rest is just incongruous and it's not like the majority of the internet doesn't operate on good faith when you say you're 18+.
So the "Vinesauce is Hope" got changed into "Variety is Hope"... according to their twitter its, a surprise on what cause on some sort of Halloween streaming.
Who wants to bet it's gonna be a "Trans kids uwu" charity? But who knows...
As for the stuff Vinny said about being banned for saying "naughty no no words" like damn he's likely salty cause he probably gets 100s of emails on his and the unban email daily about "I was banned for saying all lives matter!" "I was banned for disagreeing with someone who said trans rights!" "I was banned for saying hell instead of heck!" and so on

Pretty much. It was way easier to do case-by-case bans when they had 500 viewers tops. Now, with the numbers they're pulling, that would be impossible - and if anything does go awry, they WILL be liable, regardless of whether they were there to witness it/handle it personally or not. It sucks, but banning every single case is the easiest and most effective way to deal with those kinds of problems. I'm with Vinny on this one.
Yeah, I can't blame him for being irritated, because he probably gets these kinds of complaints constantly, even though he often has nothing to do with bans. Plus, like he said, it becomes a liability issue - if anything goes south, especially anything to do with minors interacting with NSFW content, he's fucked. His comment implies that whatever the OP of that post said probably wasn't just a swear, and fell either into NSFW or bigot territory, which becomes his problem if kids are seeing/engaging with that content and it becomes a legal problem. It's a tough tightrope walk, but I think he's doing it pretty well.
Oh God, please no. Don't let Vinny turn into hhomberguy and raise a bunch of money for a child sterilization charity like mermaids.
Also, I do actually agree with Vinny. I just thought he came off as extra salty and passive aggressive here. Makes me wonder if he's pretty much done with the fanbase.
The VarietyisHOPE thing and Vinny just kinda being done with shit is giving me the vibes that Vinesauce as a brand and group of streamers is not long for this world. I give it a year or two at this point, and one day they'll just say they're dropping it and letting everyone do their own thing.
The streamers mostly do their own thing now anyway, and from a Fullsauce viewer perspective the stream team seems a lot less unified than a few years ago. The streamers will keep doing their own thing and nothing will really change if they do discontinue it though.

It's somewhat reminding me of the That Guy With The Glasses era, where the group at the time made sense as they were pioneers of their field and could bolster their name more efficiently under a collective brand. But now that their corner of the internet has massively expanded and is far more accessible there's not much of a need for that kind of conglomerate team setup anymore.
And that's even before getting into the dissonance of interests between Vinny and his troon-crazy fanbase.
In my opinion, the whole Vinesauce community has turned into one major shit show. After watching vinnys streams for five years I’ve gotten bored of him trying to pander to a younger generation. The community is overrun with furries and trannies. There’s nothing good left. Vinesauce is coming to an end. I wouldn’t be surprised if the whole Vinesauce team would go separate ways in a year or two.
Few years back the community was very enjoyable. Now there’s very little left of what was nice. The booru at one point had a lot of good art but now it’s just doodle quality art. A lot of 30 min art just to get on vinnys stream.
Yeah, just keep the Reddit and that's it. Reddit is a troons and kids safe haven that most of the crew can deal with, over having stupid little "uwu inside memes" that confuse the hell out of Vinny and Joel. And one good chunk less of emails for Vinny to filter thru
So last night's stream was, strange for lack of a better term.
While playing Yooka Laylee and the Impossible Lair last night there was a big spiel going on about how shitty video game companies are and that usual shtick, and Vinny sounded more and more like a tired old man as the topic went on, a very "I'm too old for this shit I just want to play video games in peace" type of tone.
I don't know if he already addressed it at some point already (I haven't been watching every stream lately), but he weirdly skirted around even saying Blizzard during that whole conversation. Though later on in the stream he said something about Tencent emailing him about giving his band exposure and loudly exclaimed "Nope! Fuck that!" so he's clearly no boot-licker or anything but it still struck me as peculiar.
Another oddity was he spent 5 minutes telling people not to gift sub and how he doesn't need money and has plenty already. Which, okay? But it's like, it's just people being nice and giving people free subs, I don't see why that would warrant such a call out to stop doing that. Feels like he's trying to be too humble if that makes any sense.
This sounds like normal Vinny: a strong aversion to divisive topics and drama even when he agrees, and even the "please don't give me money" thing. The latter's been a thing that comes up every couple of months for a while now, he always tells people to save it for the charity stream.
Vinny being an semi-cynical oldfag that just wants to chill and play video games is a big part of his appeal to me, but I hope it doesn't eventually ruin him in the process.

At 52:20 someone asks why Vinny has accepted any sponsorship, his reason is because ''It looks way to shady'' or along the lines of that. At first it was because of Tencent which is understandable but he references other companys not with Tencent. And at 54:35 someone asks how important it is to him to expand his audience, I feel as this collides with his previous statement as to say ''I'm happy where Red vox and vinesauce is and I don't wish to expand more.'' Again understandable with Vinesauce since its proven a bigger fanbase usually kick out the old guard of fans, but isn't it unfair for the Red vox members?
Vinny is contempt with how much money he is raking in with twitch, but the other members are obviously not raking alot of cash in compared to the big boss. I just think its unfair of Vinny to hold back the entire band because he is contempt with everything. He obviously hates that Red vox only got know was because of his streams, and not because of his music. There is proof that people want his music, especially the Korean manager who was pretty big if i remember that contacted him. But probably doesn't want to be know as that band ''that only got big in Korea and not the US'', very sad that a talented band that actually makes good music is getting held back because of the leaders 'tism.
I don’t understand vinnys mentality when it comes to money. That would be sponsorships, gifted subs, donations, etc. Every streamer I now watch loves receiving gift subs because it’s something given to the community, not just the streamer.
It’s horrible that he’s not letting the band move on to bigger things. I remember him mentioning how much he loves making music, so why not let the music be heard by many people no matter the location. He’s fucking over the other band members by refusing an offer that could make red vox popular. If I was doing anything creative and was offered help from someone to help move my career along, I would accept it without a doubt.
I’m pretty sure he’s either hitting midlife crisis or is about to.It doesn’t seem like he has much of a brain.
I think it's a bit naive to assume that Vinny calls the shots on what happens with his band without the two-cents of his bandmates. They're plenty talented in their own right and would have no trouble moving on and making money through other endeavours if they felt he was being a stick in the mud. They probably have full time jobs, and make music on the side, which is why getting signed to a label may be inconvenient/unstable.
[EDIT: N.B. - all the band members have expressed their preference not to play live/tour... So becoming sponsored/contracted would probably obligate them to something none of them want.]
I do understand his reasoning for not pushing for Vinesauce as a community to grow. Since 2016, ish, most of the members operate independently and just use the 'Vinesauce' moniker in a very tangiential sense. I believe the incentive for this was to prevent people being guilt-tripped or made to feel responsible for others, as a matter of fact.
The first thing that immediately came to mind with his answer to not wanting to expand the Vinesauce brand was "I want to stop streaming sometime soon so what's the point?"
As has been discussed already, the man's getting old. And with age comes contempt for the youth, and having to deal with that kind of demographic on a daily basis is wearing him down more and more. Every passing week you can hear the weariness in his voice increase, even his rare moments of excitement and joy are noticeably toned down from what they used to be, and he generally has this air of confusion and indifference whenever more modern topics are brought up by the chat, such as the latest memes.
Between that and his clear financial stability, he will up and disappear in the not too far off future, retiring in peace. I think the only thing that might keep him around for a while longer is the fact that his fanbase are the only people aware of his music, and once he dips nobody's going to be aware of his band anymore.
IIRC one of the other guys in his band is a full-time Dad (I think the Keyboard or another guitar player) and Mike has a really bad back amongst other issues (I think? or its just a bad back) to the point he can hardly drum anymore.
Heres a recent mostly music interview Vinny did some time back
