Vinny's streams have become less and less entertaining over time (yes I know I'm preaching to a choir here), but his bandmate Mike's become incredibly more unhinged over time and I'm all here for it!

Watching a broken New-Yorker in a bathtub marrying a pumpkin with a hole carved into it then smashing it against the bathroom wall minutes later is the avant-garde shit I live for, has that early Vinny energy to me.

I haven’t watched Mike in a long while, but I remember liking him until he made a habit of just stopping the game to go on a tangent for like 5-10 minutes. Just not moving or doing anything.

I think he actually got instakilled by the monster that gets you when you afk in Spooky’s Jumpscare Mansion for doing exactly that once, which was pretty funny. Hope he’s shaken that habit, at least.

That's just called growing up.

I was recently rewatching old streams I thought were great 5-10 years ago and I kept catching my self thinking "jesus, shut the fuck up and play" when Vinny was trying to be funny.
I still like his streams despite this and I like how he explores through interesting old and/or shit games, but god damn he was really never that great of a comedian.

I remember I first found Vinny through corruptions many years ago, and later got into his streams of weird or surreal games. He would occasionally talk about how on days that weren't Sunday he plays normal games that I had actually heard of before, and I wondered why anyone would want to watch that. I've softened a bit and sometimes like to see him play regular games, but the appeal sure isn't his original comedy. He has his moments for sure, but the game's content carries the streams that I enjoy.

Current state of source engine is kinda in the shit at the moment

Valve broke a bunch a features overtime with their updates and no one can really fix a lot of it. Also i'm not sure the dev could legally take any money for it if it was actually a source mod.

Watching him slip into it during that more recent marble video, I've started thinking it's turned into some kind of reflex. Like some switch gets flipped in his brain when he tries to focus too hard on a game and the commentary part of his brain just drops to "do the funny voice, funny voice man." Stream of consciousness, I guess, like he can't even control it. Streamerbrain's long-term effects are truly horrifying to watch.

I dunno, that was entirely worth it just for Mr Rodger. I actually choked on my drink at that one. Old Vinny is still in there alright.
