I've been trying to find the reason for why Joel stays so consistently good while other similar streamers have fallen off (ex: Jerma and Vinny), and I have distilled it down to a few reasons as to why Joel is the GOAT:
1: He is humble; he lives in a small town in an apartment because he feels it is a waste of money to get a big house and would rather save it for the future.
2: He does not look at the news because it is "mostly negative" and only reads the local newspaper, which tends to be more positive; thus, his "apolitical" stance does not come off as fake like others who say they are "apolitical," and he manages to neither be too white nor blackpilled.
3: He is multicultural with his humor and memes and often puts his own spin on them, diverging from the usual formulas of the jokes and memes that have been beaten down or given a political bearing. He has also stated that he likes to use old, outdated memes because he finds them funnier, to which chat called him a "meme hipster." Because he uses a lot of multinational jokes or memes, he has also built up a (truly) diverse audience, I also believe these members are responsible for the lower amount of troons, because most other countries do not care about the gender stuff or are against it entirely.
4. He is not bound by a schedule and takes breaks whenever he feels like it; therefore, nothing ever feels stale or "by the numbers."
5: He still edits his own YouTube videos. I believe this is part of the reason he is good at timing jokes live.
6: The Fecalfunny Shield: This is maybe the most important aspect besides the diverse audience; his humor can be seen as abrasive to outsiders (much like death metal) and can be hard to get into (much like death metal), but the community is actually comfortable when you look past the loudness and appreciate the technical aspect (much like death metal). This shield keeps most of the parascocials out, further strengthened by the lack of personal information on the streamer.
There are probably other reasons, but I think these are the main ones that have kept him both consistently entertaining and helped keep his audience tolerable. I'm only writing this because the thread is dead, and I'm curious what others think about my hypothesis.
