I've read through this thread, and general consensus is that parasocial behavior is unhealthy and often cringe. At the same time, keeping up with and analyzing Vinesauce like short bus paparazzi leads me to believe that this thread is a form of parasocial behavior. So I'm off to do other things like play World of Tanks, please wish me luck in my endeavor everyone, thank you.

PARAsocial this, PARAsocial that, why don't you grow a pair, and take a stance on the wig debate.

Livestreaming and forums are supposed to be social. Stop being a tard if you aren't going to make conversation.

Vinny "ERP"ing with a random chat member during the Chimerland stream was hilarious. After everything that happened I'm glad Vinny's sense of humor hasn't changed and he feels comfortable enough to do silly stuff like that.

Has anyone noticed the surge in Limes viewership? Shes averaging almost 2k viewers now. VTubing is really the key to success

She recently collabed with a Vshojo...person. Probably helped out a bit.

When a streamer typically breaks into the four-digit viewer average, that's like the perfect balance between a solid Twitch career and having a viewership so immense that you start having the parasocial whack-jobs make it uncomfortable for you. In fact, I personally think Vinny's streams were at their best in the days when the viewers sat between the 1K to 3K mark. This was probably around... 2014 to 2016.

So yeah, I'm genuinely happy for Limes that she's gotten to the point she is now and she's earned it. All this while being an ex-Twitch employee too - Best of both worlds if you ask me!

That period had some good streams. I remember it was a milestone for Vinny having around 800-900 viewers watching this game, but chatango regulars were unhappy about the "spam" because they used it to socialize, and it was too fast to have a conversation. A couple of them even grew to prefer Ima or KY streams because chat was slower. Vinny initially tried to combat it by telling chat to cool the spam and get a slow mode going, but doing that every stream was probably tedious. Fast chat is a different kind of entertainment, like a hype train/circlejerk.

Not to be too much of a massive nerd or anything; but when you think about it? Vinesauce as a group is outstanding in it's survivability and longevity. Sure, people have left over the years, and there's the one noticeable shithead disgraced member and all; but compared to groups from YouTube like Rooster Teeth, The Creatures, Team Crafted? It's flawless.

Vinesauce never went full corporate, or had nepotism up the ass or downright sociopathic nonsense occurring, or people ending up ACTUAL crackheads by the end of it all; it started as a guy and some people playing around with games, and it's stayed that way. They don't have massive fame or fortune, but they have their sanity and their dignity. Also a bit of cash. All in all, in comparison to how it could have ended up? Not shabby at all.

It's also worth noting the the main crew, vinny and joel, never beg for subs, but they also don't block the less popular members from getting what they, with smaller numbers, need from grifting.
And despite the recent, and some long-past, drama, there really just isn't much drama. Truly we are lucky for what we DO have.

Ugh... You know, I give props to Limes for being a fun streamer to watch, but contrast it with Rev and I was quickly reminded why I tuned out from his streams ages ago. Today I saw that he was streaming VA-11 Hall-A; a visual novel I'm fond of. So I thought: "Neat! I wonder how he's liking it thus far?"

Weeeell...
>Tune in and find he's in the middle of experimenting with color palettes for his future Town of Nowhere streams for like 15 minutes
"Uh, okay. I can wait around for him to get back into the game."
>He stops the game again to feed his cats Herman and Abby not even five mintes later
"Yeah I suppose it's their dinnertime, I'll wait a couple minutes while he does that"
>Five minutes after he resumes the game, he gets a phone call
"Really? Okay fine, it must be his wife."
>It's apparently a water utility in Texas giving a recorded notification to conserve water due to drought conditions, and Rev starts going into an "I hate Texas so much" politisperg screed.

I pretty much tuned out of the stream to go watch somebody else after that. Then again, I guess it's expected of him since Rev is an Austinite, and they're basically more like Californians than Texans in terms of self-importance. Yeesh. If I wanted a lot of dead air and shitty hot takes, I'd watch a PatStaresAt stream instead.

Texas should stop sucking and improve their infrastructure. There is no reason that people should be going without water and electricity.

Austinites are more californian than most californians, I think because they are a hybrid strain of santa monica and portland, really tops up on the insufferablity

I mean, hell. Limes was remarking about the heat wave in the UK during her stream of Stray but she was at least taking it in stride. Maybe chalk it up to bad timing, but Rev disrupting his stream thrice in the span of 15 minutes (including a political rant as the cherry on top) was enough to make me bounce and remember why I prefer to watch Limes over him these days.

It's also the same kinds of bad habits I often find Mike falling into. Sometimes Mike might be entertaining when he's invested in whatever he happens to play, but he too tends to interrupt his streams way too much and for long periods of time for trivialities. Now Rev is falling into that same booby trap these days, so I must assume it's rubbing off from Mike.
