I like when Vinny or Joel are playing a game and get stuck and then someone in chat posts the actual solution to the problem in chat and they read it but then chat goes, "ONE GUY" and Joel and Vinny go back to bashing their head against the wall for the next 15-20 minutes.

I am actually very proud of Vinny! He actually listened to a Red Letter Media review, and they didn't tell him what to think!

He tried fighting it though, but in the end even he couldn't give in and admitted that the Matrix Ressurections is indeed, a pile of shit.

It's refreshing, considering his entire movie opinionbank is formed just by what those guys think and say.

Almost all of Vinny's opinions are formed by other people. Just look at Death Stranding, he went into that game with a negative mind set and the expectation it's not for him. If a game he's interested in gets less than stellar reviews he's less likely to play it too. There was a recent example of this, but I can't think of it off the top of my head right now.

It's why I gravitate to Joel now far more often than Vinny. Granted, Vinny has had some absolute bangers lately like Mario From Memory. But I can only take so much RedLetterMediaBeatlesStarTrek talk. Funny enough I like some of those things, but he drones about the same things over and over to the point or becomes trite.

Something Vinny said that legit bugged me is that he only listens to new music from artists he already likes and doesn't actively seek out new music. That also speaks to his taste in things like his video game habits as well.

Dude is just straight afraid to step out of his comfort zone for ANYTHING.

I remember Vinny going nuclear at the comment section of his second Death Stranding stream on YT. People were calling him out on him shitting about how "long are the cutscenes" when he would gladly replay and reread the same wall of text CT and other games he likes have. Fun times.

I remember being quite annoyed by this. He kept saying that "he gave it a chance and it wasn't for him" but those streams were miserable because he didn't even attempt giving it a chance. I seem to recall him taking a similar stance to the Silent Hill series initially, not wanting to play any besides 2 because they were allegedly "bad". At least he changed his mind on this one.

Wish the funny pizza man would more often try something rather than just make his opinion based on "one guy" in the chat, or what some asshole making a video essay on YT said.

I think "negative Vinny" streams can be hilarious: the No Man's Sky and Metroid Prime: Federation Force stream was really funny. But the Death Stranding streams were just straight up miserable. He knew he wasn't interested in the game, he went in not even trying to meet the game halfway, and just kept playing. Fair enough on not liking the game, a lot of people didn't like the game, but why even bother putting yourself through it at that point?

Kinda think THIS was how he burnt out on 'live' shows, he over-claims the whole parasocial thing in my eyes, when if you look at the things that REALLY get him tilted and make being live frustrating for him, it's obviously (ranked in order):
  1. chat saying nintendo bab gaem you can tell this one gets to him since he went from defending himself when chat is just joking, to defending himself against 1or2 randos who wandered in from the front page wanting to see pro gaming, to even when I don't see anybody at all talking shit and he is per-emptivly defending himself. He even starts to get ACTUALLY disgusted by the old 'Sega Rules, Nintendo Droolz' 90's ads. (now that he isn't live with chat 4 hours every night he rarely gets tilted on this point and regularly shits on nintendo, or at least it's business practices[tbf he was starting to do this pre the change as well])
  2. playing a new aaa game and having to walk the line of chat thats hype for it and chat that wants him to roast it, vinny being a people pleaser will just end up being miserable here (stranding) unless things tilt all the way where he can lean into the stank (no man's, cyberpunk)
  3. biinty plz plae ____, and outside of the DMCATOO meme, he actually seems bothered by the please play undertale and watch these animes emails he was getting.
Where as while there were a few are he got grossed out by, he put up with and praised, lots of sappy and line-stepping booru art and comments that personally made me secondhand creeped out. So I don't buy the whole parasocial excuse, but I do agree that it was a problem and glad he tried to fix it.
The end result I'm happy with, the drop in content output and chat interaction burn out has made for way less of these awkward ass streams where he isn't into it, even if the prerecorded episodes are more lowkey.

I've watched Vinny since he was streaming on Vinesauce.com and sharing one account across every team member. I remember when he quit his factory job to stream full time and it was a huge deal, that was an absolutely crazy night. I've been along for the ride for a while but I have to say, I'm really sick of him. Sometime around when the big controversy started last year and he took the break from streaming/switched to pre-recorded content I just got tired of him. I can barely sit through a full VOD now without tuning out due to boredom.

I get it, he doesn't really like streaming as much anymore and he's trying to pivot into a different path in life. I'm happy that he's figuring stuff out, but goddamn his music absolutely sucks. His opinions on music are boring as hell, his influences are bog standard, he has no charisma with any of the other Vinesauce members and I'm tired of hearing him retread the same few topics over and over again while half-assing a game in the background. I dunno if he changed or I did, but I still love Joel to bits.

Meanwhile, Jerma's current content and relationship with his chat has evolved in a way since covid started to where he's almost completely replaced Vinny for me. He's hilarious, his heart is in the content he makes and he's extremely passionate about it. He has ambitions and a love for what he does/the community he's grown and it shows. It contrasts so heavily with Vinny who feels like he's operating on life support and scared of the community surrounding him. The majority of Vinny's content now makes me feel like I'm watching it from a hospital waiting room. It's so drab and depressing.

I actually like Vinny's music quite a bit, but I more or less feel the same way. ESPECIALLY since he has come back. Looking back on Vinny's favorite albums list, you REALLY see the lack of variety in his taste.

If you look at Joel from 2015 to now, outside of his heavy Swedish accent loosening, he is EXACTLY the same streamer.

Vinny at this point feels like Great Value(tm) Vinny, if that makes sense. A boring, safe homogenized Vinny that is programmed to talk about the same things, show boredom during his Animal Crossing streams, and shit on things other people like to be contrarian.

Some examples would be when he pissed off his chat by calling MCR "generic music" despite the fact that his chat are 12 year old tranny furries that listen to nothing BUT MCR. Also, Vinny is one to talk about listening to generic music. And again, he's a fucking millennial who talks to his 12 year old tranny furry chat about the fucking BEACH BOYS.

The other thing that we thankfully don't have to hear again, is his disappointment during Smash reveals. Yes, Vinny. We know. We fucking know you wanted Chrono Trigger. You said it every fucking direct. And also his "I don't care about this, but I'm sure some of you will...". Again. His refusal to step out of that comfort zone.

The new redvox single actually made my for-real actual everyday listening playlist

Unrelated, our boy off his meds for this one:

The new reoccurring bit is cucksauce the frog who begs to have his ass ate, thank you vinny

In other recent moments, last night joel beat the boss of battletoads on his first try and released much pent up adrenaline, good moment, but I don't have a cleep
