yeah ngl i'm a bit concerned with no announcements from ViH. understandably i guess they're still trying to sort things out but the charity stream's really creeping up close...

Pretty much zero chance the charity stream doesn't happen at some point this year. It does way too much good for kids in need and Vinny would never let his move to Videoland get in the way of making an appearance. At the very least, I think Vinny will pre-record his segments and maybe post in chat if there's donation goals he may want to set. (PS: Still waiting for Bean PC)

Personally, I'm holding out hope that the charity stream will be Vinny's return to streaming, even if he doesn't return to it regularly afterwards. The amount of hype and donations would be off the charts - would really make for a special moment imo.

Side note: I'm really glad his mental health has benefitted as a result of all this. I miss some of the Sunday Stream content as well as some of the non-spergy chat interactions, but I'm willing to sacrifice that if he's a lot better off. If he eventually feels like it, would love to get a monthly corruption video or something similar here or there.

Plus they changed the name a while prior to the drama to "variety is hope" so no well-poisoning happened and it should still be on. Vinny HIMSELF might scale back his participation/time or do something pre-recorded to run on twitch if he's still super down on the live part of the equation.

(honestly seems like he's over the drama, but didn't like how going live night after night was making him an internet addict. and he might be right, he's sounding 20% less dead inside since doing shorter pre-recorded segments)

iirc the charity stream itself is still called Vinesauce is Hope - Variety is Hope is just the name they run under the rest of the year.

Variety is Hope is the name of the non-profit organisation itself, which encompasses all the streams from their twitch channel as well as Vinesauce is Hope; which is their flagship event.

Mike was on Critical's podcast yesterday. He's a really funny dude. Vin was mentioned briefly. He was saying how he was going down a dark path. He was depressed, had issues with alcohol and Vin told him that he needed to find a hobby, got him into streaming and basically saved his life. I know this info isnt new to many people here though and he told this story before but here's the link if anyone wants to watch it

I was listening to some old Extra Sauce videos as short background chatter, and when I stumbled upon a video where Vin talks about the twitch DMCA stuff and the recording industry, he says that thanks to the internet, Red Vox was "spread like an STD", and i couldn't help but chuckle and feel like that analogy was somewhat related to his HPV debacle from a few months ago. That shit caught me off guard.
