We've mentioned both of those people quite a few times, so I don't think so. Unless I'm misremembering, I'm pretty sure Sgt said the person in question was a girl, and faked the logs specifically to drive a wedge between her and Vinny out of jealousy. I can't particularly see Joel or Rev doing that. (Well, maybe Joel, but certainly not Rev.)
I never mentioned the person's gender. I don't think I'll talk about who it is unless someone else says something about them or they themselves come forward.

Hello. Been watching Vinny and Joel since around 2013 or so.

I don't know too much about the drama other than reading this thread, but for a movie night couldn't someone just do a private/unlisted stream on a random youtube account?

Just went and looked and you're completely right. My mistake!

Don't feel like you have to share that bit of info if it would cause more problems for you, though. I think we're all pretty glad just to have learned what we have about the situation, since our previous info was clearly false.

This thread has really come into its own over the past couple weeks. It's drawn in a bunch of lurkers to sign up and join the conversation, and it successfully cleared up lingering old drama. That's pretty impressive. I've been watching this thread for quite some time on and off and it's nice to see it get a lot of attention with some solid posts and conversation.

That being said, to any lurkers hoping to tip people off about discussion here, it's worth remembering that the farms generally has a non interaction policy. People are here to discuss, not plan trolling ops or intentionally stir shit. The old "don't pozload my negholep" rule is still alive and well here. This gossip is happening in an insular community that most of the internet at large considers to be a nazi hellsite. The farms only hurts you if you're autistic enough to let it, and even then we're still just random people talking on a forum.

Back to the thread: I haven't been watching many Vinesauce streams recently since most are games I've already been watching other streams for or games I'm not interested in. It's sorta sad hearing Vinny being at odds with the chat and more grouchy than usual, but who can blame him when they're all screaming at him to play games he's not particularly interested in. I'm genuinely wondering what games Vin is looking forward to and what he'll have a good time with. Personally I'd love to see Vin try some VR but I get the feeling it's not really his bag these days. RingFit was a pretty fun stream but I'm not sure if he's publicly said anything about VR.

ETA: Hahaha holy shit I didn't know DTTP turned into "don't pozload my neghole"

its nice to see that some people who were meant to be one off accounts are still coming to shoot the shit.

also here’s the list of options here for movie night platforms.
Cytube - Decent platform, however some movies you host on it from google drive will be blocked by google if it detects that it’s a copyright film.

youtube - idk enough to really say how good this is for hosting a movie night

syncplay - a freeware program that Keeps everyone’s time synced up when watching through vlc or MpC. Has a chat feature and Is Really good for People with shit internet. but first time setup is complicated and everyone who wants to participate needs to download their own copy of the exact same movie file.

I’d post a strawpoll to see what everyone prefers but idk How the farms feels about strawpolls.

going back to the thread: I think Vinny is just wayyy too much of a boomer to really get into VR like that. I could be wrong though who knows.

I dont have much interest in talking about Vinny here too much, he's actually someone I consider a friend and we chat from time to time. I want to respect his privacy. Jabroni Mike is just a different story for me since I'm still bitter about his community and how he turned out.

You guys are pretty civil and decent though, I enjoy lurking here even if the topic moves away from anything I can contribute to.

I understand your feelings quite well. I appreciate that you don’t let that bitterness manifest into autistic rage. And it’s a relief to FINALLY find people that aren’t insisting that he’s a victim around every turn. Either way it would be lovely to see more of you around.

I enjoy that "One Guy" has spread rapidly to every related streamer. Singular Individuals on suicide watch, your days are numbered.

I do feel Joel gets unreasonably angry about it though, he doesn't seem to understand that it isn't just "haha we lie to you and then say one guy", it's just a consequence of how streamers read chat and the nature of chat to try and give advice for games they've never played. Sometimes some idiot posts bullshit and that happens to be the one you read, that's all.

If I ever get good enough internet to start streaming I'll gladly accept a tiny chatroom with like ten people in it. I would never want to have a chat as big as Joel's, or God forbid, Vin's. I feel like you lose a lot when chat becomes so big you can barely interact, that's why I loved Panoots streams and why Mike becoming... Mike...is such a shame. Good smallish streams are hard to come by.

https://www.strawpoll.me/18971916 not sure what I’m expecting from this. Leave feedback.
Just a heads up that I won't be voting because any night works for me, but my internet probably isn't good enough to host. Pointless for me to just add +1 to everything.

Maybe using syncplay as the hosting platform will be the better choice then. I’m debating on whether or not a discord should be made. It might be more trouble than it’s worth. Also speaking from personal experience streaming is fun but given the current climate of things it gets old after awhile. Stick to discord streaming if you ever wanna keep streaming strictly to friends.

Do you guys think Vinny lurks here?
I think both Vinny and Joel do enough stream-related activities that they don't want to deal with it off stream too. I don't see what they'd gain by coming here, either, we've got too much attention now as is.

We could just open a discord and find a good mirror of the movie on 123 if all else fails. Sometimes the simplest is the best.

If we opened a discord we would need some rules though, God forbid it becomes a den of iniquity.

A movie night would be great! Hopefully it works out and becomes a regular thing around here.

I don't think he lurks the farms or /v archives as much as he used to, but I wouldn't doubt it if he's lurked within the past few months. He seems too busy to keep up with what some randoms have to say on here.

How are Joel's streams these days? I haven't kept up with him since he first got involved with Undertale and brought in that tumblr swarm of viewers.

I see him getting an Index now, because of Half Life: Alyx. Don't see much more than the occasional VR one-off beyond HL: Alyx, but he's a big enough fan of the series to buy a setup.

As for the talk of people (Mike, Joel) getting burned out and pissy, this is why content creators need to take breaks. People like to give YouTubers and streamers shit when they say they need a break, but if you don't break now you become DSP later where people start only showing up for the shitshow.

Something about discord in general just makes it a sinkhole of spergery. I would probably just use it as a place to post download links/announcements and nothing more

I can commit to friday or saturday nights since I'm usually home studying, I may need a stand-in at times since friends might invite me out for a drink.

I'd like to imagine that he'd have a good time lurking here, the people here are generally more intelligent, older, and civil than your average redditor or channer.

Rookie mistake, never stream undertale. Period, it is NOT worth the influx of viewers. lmfao

As much as Joel ruined any chance of me playing Undertale, I did get unreasonably excited seeing Sans as a Mii costume in Smash. There's something very chaotic about hearing Megalovania on the Pilotwings level that will never not make me chuckle. That being said, the community can fuck right off, lol.

I still enjoy them a lot when he's playing something I'm interested in, guy's dumbass brand of humor is perfect for my vestigial boomer brain. He's mellowed out a good bit over the last couple of years.

As much as I hate to admit it I too was happy and relieved to see sans get as far as just being a mii fighter costume. Very dissapointed that megalovania was not included on any earthbound stages, 0/10. I love how people feel the need to have vinny play it, does his playing a game validate it for you mister undertale fan?

https://discord.gg/mEwDpD I'm regretting this. (This is a link to the kiwisauce movienight discord, WIP obviously)

I'd like to hope that he has better things to do.

And thank god, because I don't think I could handle much more of pre-Twitch Joel. I love his sense of humor, but fuck he could get annoying back then. He really was the drunk guy at the party breaking shit while all his friends try to get him to calm the hell down. It was really funny for a while, but pretty quickly his streams would just turn into an endurance test where you just kept waiting for him to realize that no one was enjoying themselves but him.

I'd say 2017-2018 Joel was probably his peak for me - he'd completely mellowed out from his previous obnoxious ways, while still having the energy and good humor to be funny and entertaining. Nowadays he kind of seems more bitter than anything else.
