what are some of your favorite weapons in vidya? stuff that's overpowered, easy to obtain, etc. mine would probably be the assault carbine from New Vegas. the ammo is cheap, damage is pretty high, and with the GRA DLC you can do some really nice upgrades on it. looks kinda generic (hur hur basic M16-A2 clone) but it just worked for me. admittedly it is kinda expensive (2,000 caps for the base model with no upgrades, 6,000 fully decked-out iirc) but oh well.

COD:MW's RPD light machine-gun. High damage, high ammo capacity. Add stopping power and deep impact to aid wall penetration, maybe a red dot sight. Capable of close-up work or taking out snipers at long range.

I'd use suppressive fire to drive the sniper into the prone position and then fire through the wall where I knew he'd be laying. Very effective.

That one game where you could beat people to death with a giant dildo I don't remember the name

The hunting rifle in new vegas is probably my favourite. Very satisfying weapon to use. Lever actions are fun in-game too. Automatic guns in new vegas aren't much fun in a vanilla game imo. Not sure how you enjoy the assault carbine so much, I found it awful to use. Minigun and SMMG are also pretty bad to use for me.

Some personal favorites:

The Scorpion Flail from Ratchet Deadlocked

The Super Shotgun from the DOOM series

One of the most satisfying things in any game is blasting a demon in the face with a shotgun.

Some of my favorite weapons in games are the weird/bizarre stuff, like the sewer shark gun from Saints Row 3 and 4, or the Meteor Gun from Destroy All Humans! 2.

My favorite video game weapon is the Atomic Toaster from MDK2. Not only is it a good weapon from a practical use standpoint, it's also one of the weirdest weapons in any videogame.

Everything from Painkiller. But the shotgun + ice is especially satisfying and a great one two punch.

I quite liked UT99's flak cannon. Felt like it kicked and of course the one thing better than a videogame shotgun is a videogame shotgun firing white hot metal shards.

Postal 2, GTA San Andreas or Manhunt?
Saints Row 3

As for my picks:

Anti-Material Rifle from Fallout: New Vegas, getting the suppressor for it and doing a stealth build is real fun, just sneaking around exploding people with incendiary .50 BMG from hundreds of yards away

Shotgun from Blood, arguably the best shotgun in vidya (or at least in old boomer shooters)

That one energy weapon from F.E.A.R. 1 that would turn enemies into skeletons

Thundergun, Wunderwaffle, and Ray Gun from COD Zombies

The Croon SMG from E.Y.E Divine Cybermancy isn't a good gun by any stretch, but has a ridiculous secondary fire mode that about triples its rate of fire, dumps its 100-round mag in about 2 seconds, and makes the gun sound like it's trying to rip itself apart. Without the implant that gives you perfect aim while active, there's so much recoil that you won't be able to hit a damn thing unless you ram it up someone's nose. It's retarded and I love it.

Oldie but a goodie. The cerebral bore from Turok 2 was essentially the silver spheres from Phantasm. Gun was slow as fuck and impractical to use but seeing the bore drilling into the enemy’s brain with all the viscera coming out in it’s late 90s n64 glory made young me jizz myself.

The Farsight from Perfect Dark was fun because of how hideously overpowered it was. So much tard rage in multiplayer when that gun was used

The Rivet Gun from Metal Arms: Glitch in the System.

It’s a sniping weapon that fires large rivets that impale enemies. When upgraded, after firing, you can hold down the trigger button to charge up the rivet while it’s stuck in the enemy and let go to make it explode.

Hell, most of Metal Arm’s weapons are awesome. You have the control tether which as the name implies, takes control of unaware enemies and allows you to unleash carnage amongst their ranks.

Then you have the Scatter Blaster, a shotgun which when fully upgraded fires rounds at a super fast pace and turns even Titans into Swiss cheese.

WA2000 in Hitman. Its status as a very expensive, exclusive weapon suits him, and the bullpup design would aid in concealing it.

The devs could be inspired by The Living Daylights, in which the WA2000 was prominently used.
