DELRAY BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — One person has been arrested and accused of defacing the LGBTQ Pride Intersection in Delray Beach.

Alexander Jerich, 20, turned himself in Thursday afternoon.

He is charged with criminal mischief over $1,000, reckless driving, and evidence of prejudice (felony enhancement).

On Monday, Jerich was seen by witnesses, and recorded on a cellphone, doing what appeared to be an intentional “burnout” with his vehicle over the LGBTQ pride crosswalk at the intersection of NE 1st Street and NE 2nd Avenue.

This caused the vehicle to create significant damage to the streetscape painting.

"Kudos to the Delray Beach Police Department for swiftly identifying and arresting this hateful criminal," said PBCHRC President and Founder Rand Hoch. "PBCHRC has requested the charges include defacing a memorial -- a recently enacted law which would require this crime to be treated as a felony. If convicted of this offense, the perpetrator would be responsible for reimbursing the City of Delray Beach for the cost of repairing the damages in addition the severe penalties for committing a felony"

Nicholas Coppola is a member of the Palm Beach County LGBTQ Community Center in Lake Worth Beach, and one of the leaders behind this rainbow artwork that was years in the making.

"There are many things that indicate this is a hate crime targeted against the community," Coppola said. "I hate to say I was saddened, but not surprised. There’s a part of me that expected it. Unfortunately, we deal with this every day.”

Police said the vandalism happened sometime Tuesday morning.

"People think this is a skid mark, but we’d had so many of trans-children killed in these past few years in a short period of time, so this is a much deeper problem," Coppola said.

The city unveiled the new intersection on Saturday. The artwork was dedicated to those who lost their lives in the Pulse Nightclub shooting in Orlando five years ago.

Can we bring back the days of when gays were beaten for faggotry? Let the real hate crimes begin

If he is smart he said absolutely nothing when he turned himself in.

He is unlikely to get convicted of any of the charges other than the possible reckless driving if managed to keep his mouth shut.

Felony enhancement for a burnout? Fuck this gay earth.

That said, I saw the name Nicholas Coppola and had to know more. Initially I went to the organization's website to see if he was on the about page.

Interestingly, he WAS, but not with a picture. Odd.

This got me curious.

Turns out this guy does a bunch of LGBT shock troop work going back at least as far as 2012.
I believe he is the man in the header of the article.

Unfortunately he doesn't look like a complete degenerate right off the bat, so I'll leave speculation about what he looks like up to the people.
That just means he's hidden it a bit better. Without fail, he's a degenerate.

Dumb as shit. The stupid flag is on a road. Tire wear marks, oil, coolant etc will get on it regardless.

Somebody convince me that "trans violence" is even a real thing. I have never heard the media point to even one example. When they say "killed" do they mean an-hero'd?
They always try to lump in people like black trans prostitutes being killed for pretending to be women in with those poor innocent angels who 41% themselves because that’s better optics.

He's just adding more Black stripes!! This is equity! Leave him alone!

I'm just curious how the fuck they got video of this. Like, who was following this guy with a camera already running to capture this "vandalism".

He was probably fucking around and revving his engine for a bit before he did it because public displays like this are always the domain of faggots, even when they're closet cases.

Won´t somebody think of the children checking this dudes HD?

Remember all the outrage atheists had in the 2000s about The Ten Commandments in government buildings, public Manger displays during Christmastime and other public displays using Religious imagery? Funny how they're all silent about government advocacy of LGBT when that could be interpreted as a Religious statement.
Despite having many of the hallmarks of a religion (that is being a set of beliefs unfounded in reality that need to be taken on faith that prescribes morally right and wrong behaviour) being progressive is not seen as a religion and so is treated differently. It's rather progressivism is seen as been political and most people don't see a problem with governments being political in fact it is the expectation.
Besides most of the people in the 2000s who were up in arms about religion and government are the same people who support these things.

But lost in all this is any vague acknowledgement that some people think homosexuality is against their Religion, government going "IT'S SUPER AWESOME TO BE GAY YOU GUYS" is a moral judgement that is overstepping their boundaries.

Imagine if for whatever reason the government forced you to eat pork, no matter what Jews and Muslims think, you might say "oh well pork in of itself is not Religious, so what's the issue" but for people it is, therefore their views should be respected within reason.

All I'm talking about is things being more fair, fairness would be a secular society tolerating homosexuality but not shoving it down everyone else's throats out of respect for some people's beliefs, which is not what we have today.

Just give people their damn space, which is what American society used to do, but not anymore, you have the leftist view shoved down your throat like never before.
