Oh yes, I love me some vidya soundtracks. :heart-full: I don't know where to start, so I'll just dump most of the good stuff right away.

I adore the remastered version of the Cave Story soundtrack. The melodies are preserved and made even more amazing with the bass lines and the beats.

I love DannyB's works, like what he did in Super Meat Boy. That irregular beat, that catchy melody...

Same with Danny's contribution to The Binding of Isaac. This track is maybe a bit too laid back for the fight against Satan himself, but I appreciate the heavy guitar riff.

SOLDAT did not have a particularly neat soundtrack, but it was still nice to listen to in the game while gibbing opponents with a minigun:

While we're on the topic of epic rocking in shooters:

And remember that one game that competed with Quake III Arena back in the day? It had some damn fine tunes, too. I still have it on my hard drive.

We need more UT in here.
This one is groovy as hell, really gets me pumped for some fast-paced action:

I also absolutely can't leave out Go Down / HyperBlast/Deck 16 ][ theme, it's just too catchy:

Alex Brandon made some of the music for Unreal Tournament, including the legendary Go Down. But let's also not forget Jazz Jackrabbit 2. It was really cool, and so was its soundtrack:

He also made a few tracks for this game, Dust: An Elysian Tail. It has some pretty atmospheric soundtrack. Cirromon Caverns all the way. This one really conveys the sense of wonder while exploring the spacious, dark stone corridors.

But did you know that some guys from Hyperduck Soundworks, who made most of the music for Dust:AET, also composed the soundtrack to IJI? Fighting General Tor with his Maximum Charge buff on while this tune is playing and his bullets are flying everywhere really makes you feel like a badass.

Now I wanted to mention how Chris Geehan from Hyperduck, as well as Daniel Remar who made IJI, both like the Swedish power metal (or SID-metal, as they like to call their music) band Machinae Supremacy, who made an amazing soundtrack to Jets'n'Guns, but Guardian G.I. has already posted some of the tracks to the game, so I guess the train of references ends here...
NAHHH. The soundtrack is just too awesome.

More awesomeness:
Missiles of metal, enough said.

"The Ultimate Fiery And Bloody Experience", as the game calls itself, really goes well with that music:

And speaking of shoot'em ups, Warblade is becoming somewhat of a cult game already, even though it in itself is a remake of another cult classic, Galaga. Its game music is not particularly great, but it definitely worms its way into your brain.

Hm, where do I go from here... Oh hey, Hellsinker, a very obscure and cryptic (but amazing nonetheless) Japanese indie bullet hell, has some superb music for its genre. It's completely different from Touhou (for the most part - the following track is the single remotely Touhou-esque one), but very pleasant to listen to. It goes great with what's happening on the screen!

More:
As a side note: this game loves to synchronize the action to the music. Not the other way - the levels are orchestrated to progress with the song's pace. This is really neat in Segment 3, for example, which also sounds pretty good.

Or the second extra stage... I'm just going to post a video from the game. I love the synchrony.

You know what other indie game released fairly recently has its moments of synchrony between the action and the music? The Stanley Parable. Okay, now this is really far-fetched, because it only has one such sequence and most of the game is something different entirely, but still, this track compliments that sequence all too well. The tension and light-headedness is almost palpable.

That's it for now!

Again, with Postal 3's OST being better than the game itself.

The best banana republic strategy game in existence. The fifth game of the series is coming this April.

Irisu Syndrome has some wonderfully calm music for a game about mentally disturbed people.
