I like the indie tracks of Infamous: Second Son, although they are all very contextual. They are free to download on PSN

Koudelka's whole soundtrack is a gem and I'd recommend other vidyafags should play it.

It's spergy as hell but the music from Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross is, I think, some of the best video game musics to exist. I dont have a huge list of "favorite video game music" but those two games would be in the top 5.

This one has remixes where they remaster the MIDIs and make it sound less synth-y, but I actually think that chunky MIDI sound adds something to it.

And I actually joined band in middle school because I thought this song was so cool when I was 12:
I was a weeb. That's not the original, and it gets a little too close to like, Apocalyptica where it's people trying to play classical-instrument music as if it were power metal which I think is weird, but it's still a good song.

The soundtrack just takes me to like, a really emotional place, I dont know why but I find it really powerful. It really does a good job of making the world seem both alien, and like some forlorn, magical place.

While it's always just been contemporary rock pop music, MLB The Show every so often manages to use their song of the year in an amazing intro sequence.
