This game is basically forgotten today, remembered only for it's music

But holy shit, does it have some rocking chiptunes


there was even a kickstarter devoted to remastering the tracks

In fact, anything by Frank Klepacki in the Westwood days is made of win.


"We are going to have to ACT... if we want to live in a different world."


And then there's this.


And totally unrelated, this number from Witcher 3. It apparently started life as a traditional Eastern European wedding song, with lyrics in medieval Bulgarian. Yet it is incredibly badassful.

 
The closest I'll get to Shenmue is owning a physical copy but I'm content to hearing the music of the game.

I truly believe the Guilty Gear series has the best soundtrack for any fighting game





 

I dreamt of blood upon the shore, of eyes that spoke of sin.
The lake was smooth and deep and black; as was her scented skin.
 
here's a list of my favorite video game music:


I really like the drums in this one, really kick ass. reminds me of the movie "Heat".


This music's atmospheric qualities, giving the impression of playing as a terrifying race like The Borg, does a more than effective job. Really does send chills down my spine.


A nice callback to the original Homeworld, considering Dersets of Kharak is a prequel.


Sweet guitar riffs. 'nuff said.


This reminds me of the Blade Runner soundtrack by Vangelis.
