So a bunch of leftist groups marched today in downtown Buenos Aires in support of Maduro (Spanish source). There were some clashes with the local police.


Of course, not a single venezuelan on sight. They were all argentines. I hate those fuckers so much. I want to show them this:


While shoving a plane ticket to Venezuela -their promised land- down their throats. Socialist fuckheads like Roger Waters are just the tip of the iceberg, I could imagine the police wiping the floor with them and nothing of value, literally nothing of value would be lost.

Well, my goofy ass was tracking it across the Atlantic with just open source information. There was also somebody inside the finance ministry leaking the plan to trade gold for euros in the UAE. With the info the treasury department has access to, they could have easily identified the currency brokers buying up euros in the UAE or just declared a fuckit and sanctioned the whole country.

e: I am almost certain one shipment of gold was exchanged for euros before orange man stepped in.

If I punch you in the face and take your Rolex - the one that has "I will never, ever pawn this watch" engraved on it - and then go inside the pawnshop I was directly in front of when I punched you out and stole your Rolex, in plain view of the owner, and the owner buys the Rolex off me, the owner will be guilty of receiving stolen goods. Once the police show up and sort everything, he will have to give you back your rolex, and be out whatever money he gave me for the Rolex.

UAE is being told Maduro is not the legitimate leader of Venezuela, so he has no rights to sell Venezuela's reserve. No transactions measured in literal tons of gold are going to go unrecorded; someone is going want a receipt. So if UAE gives Maduro cash, they might be open to claims of damages from the new government. This is in addition to the short term issues as being seen as aiding a government global opinion is rapidly turning against.

The only governments that are actually, legitimately backing Maduro are Cuba and probably Uruguay*. Other countries are offering statements of support for Maduro (some are simply taking a stance that opposes whatever the US is doing), but they don't actually give a shit about him. Russia and ESPECIALLY China will reverse course the moment he's no longer in power, and start trying to woo the new government.

The UAE is just deciding that a going-out-of-business sale on 15 tons of gold isn't worth the diplomatic damage, and being left alone holding the bag to twist in the wind when China and Russia drop their complaints about the interim government a few weeks after Maduro is removed from power.


*I think; I know they are lefty fruits and were part of Chavez' Economic Murder-Suicide Pact, but I don't really keep up with them.

Aid would come in trucks. I believe trucks can move heavy objects.

But what do I know, I went to school. Maduro's got street smarts.

Hauling heavy equipment out in order to move shit so semis can get through costs money that otherwise would go to aid. Nobody with any sense is going to use a semi to shove shipping containers out of the way.

Eventually, but it'll slow things way down.

Plus the guy is insane and powerhungry enough to block aid convoys from bringing food to his literally starving citizens. That's the sort of crazy might give troops orders to fire on "foreign incursion" (said aid convoys).

Apparently and if you believe the rumors people in colombia are willing to loan the equipment to move it, this is a very dick move again people that are waiting those medicament to live (cancer patients and people with kidney failures are the ones that are more desperate"
 
I would expect those BTR-80A's to roll out if anyone gets near those containers.
