Weird how this one country is experiencing cataclysmic poverty and chaos when the rest of the region is more prosperous than ever.

They voted this shit in, repeatedly. Then were shocked when the commie assholes they voted in acted like commie assholes and made their ability to vote meaningless.

Venezuelans can't legally own Petros. They are stuck with the shitty BsF. Petros are only for foreigners. Which is why a bunch of countries banned it, it's essentially a bond with no interest designed to sneak around sanctions. Then they brought out this thing right before launch not mentioned in the white paper where you had to buy a token so you could then buy the Petro when it launched, which was postponned. Then, to make it even more stupid, they changed what currency you could buy the tokens with at the last minute. It's a huge clusterfuck.

I thought about making a thread for it in the crypto forum. But I remembered I am lazy so I didn't.

I’m talking all the way back to Chavez. Being surprised that a commie acts like a commie to set up an heir to their domain is moronic. The people were happy when Chavez was nationalizing appliance stores and forcing the owners to sell their stock at a fraction of the cost.

Chaves, then yes they got what they deserved, currently its pretty sad seeing this happen but at the same time I hope they get there shit togather, but at the same time fuck off and leave us alone we already have our own promblems.
 
My family (and especially my mom, who lived there 5-21) has friends that live down there. I just want a military coup to shoot everyone that claims to be a socialist so that Venezuela can go back to a respectable country again.

The army controls the flow of goods and the officer corps is getting huge kickbacks through the gamed exchange system. There ain't gonna be a military coup. At least not until the whole thing collapses and their money gets cut. Though I imagine most will just fuck off to Cuba or wherever and let the country burn.

In the Chavez age people actually voted for him, i worked in several elections with my mom (she is member of Democratic action, think like the Democratic party but without the imbeciles), Chavez even used public transport to get them from shitholes abandoned by god to get them to vote, and they did with a smile, that when they had food, now they dont give a flying shit because even their own people is fleeing the country, they dont care about their jobs or social benefits they just want to leave the main cashcow that was PDVSA is finally dying because people are leaving in mass even with threats of being called Traitors to the country if they officially quit, they just leave without even a warning lol

Sadly true, this was a huge problem where i live until someone decided to get rid of them by poisoning the garbage bags with raticide when the first two appeared death they stopped

They can, but the system is for all purposes death, Maduro believed that he could get away with USA sanctions using the Petro but the God Emperor slapped him with a Executive order, now no one care about it, the only thing that they released recently was the wallet but again you have to dox yourself to death to get it they did this to prevent people for using it to leave the country, it his rumoured that if you try to buy the petro and you are in the shit list your passport get blacklisted and calified as "stolen" so you have to wait shitload of months just to prove that isnt then another shitload of months to get a new one

Update: lets add that the minimum ammount of petros you can buy is 1000 euros , the minimum wage is 4 euros, so much for the crypto of the people (the thing is expressed in Euros and Yuans because maduro has a hateboner for USA to the point that he refuse to mention Dollars for anything)

Never happening, those imbeciles dont care about anything, and recently the ones that decided to rebel were quickly purged, the institution is now a den of fingermans just waiting to somone to fuck it up to get rid of them

Huh. I guess I must have confused it when reading about all the weird restrictions they had on the pre-sale tokens.

Either way it probably isn't a good idea for Venezuelans to buy them. It would probably get them asked all sorts of scary questions about where they got all that foreign currency from. I don't think they can exchange the ultra-fucked BsF for them and the only way to legally exchange them for a currency that isn't hyper-inflating is through the corrupt exchange system. Not that anyone would want to exchange good currency for a Petro anyways.

Did I get that right?
