My armchair guess is that it’s because China won’t let him and they’re doing whatever they can to cover Maduros ass on the world stage. It makes matters worse if they can’t legally export crude back to China for cracking to give to Russia and Iran. BRICS is banking on Venezuela not making things worse for them by declaring supreme dictatorship after they went through all the trouble of phony elections. Venezuela is blockade-able and that’s their worst fear.

Doom and gloom is starting again when people is afraid the USA just go to fight Iran and people will forget about us, the plan of Maduro is apparently arrest everyone he can to use them as bargaining chips to do another "negotiation" and keep themselves in power, there are reports of Banks in spain making you sign a document that forbid you to send money to venezuela (you can send it by other means), the old parole method to get into USA got suspended

Maria corina and Edmundo has called for a big ass protest tomorrow but unless they go to Miraflores or something i dont see anything else coming out of it

Edit 1: at least the fun part is that one of the candidates Jose Brito checked the voting center where his family vote and he got 0 votes in there, not even his own family cared about voting for him and he is malding on camera

Edit 2: there are reports that everyone that get arrested are utterly fucked and the cops or guards are asking for a whooping 1000 dollars to let you go, almost all the people they captured are poor kids that barely has money to feed themselves but the cops dont care

From what little friends are still living there, they tell me that the police are just pulling people out of their homes, doesnt matter if you're rich or poor, even if you're timidly pro-government (IE you have some money laundering business with them but you're not super pro Chavez-Maduro). What has been made clear is that the few chavistas that are left in some communities are snitching on their neightbours. From what I've been gathering, people are really scared but there's also this pent up rage that's been building for years and they're just waiting for something to happen (and thats a big if) to start getting revenge on the chavista snitches or whatever government people they can get their hands on to lynch them.

Hell, I've even seen people sharing around pictures of mostly white, privileged american/european commies who are doing propaganda for Maduro and are incredibly smug and condescending to poor, brown, hungry venezuelan themselves, calling them far right facists, waiting as well to start pulling them from the 5 star hotels their streaming from, (Because they're first world commies, of course they're staying in the best hotels in Caracas) and again, lynching them. Maybe I'm being way too optimistic but as scared as people are, there's also this tense feeling of as soon as there's a sign that the police/army/government militias can't or won't do their job, the people are going to go berserk and just burn down every government building and throw all government officials into the fire.

This isn't the first time. Its not even the second. If want to count the successful coup during the bush years this at least the fourth time there has been a chance to toss off the communist oppressors but after some impotent raging they go right back to their cucksheds for more of the same.

No, just the #1 and #2 guy and some other associates. Leadership was handed over, but quality has nosedived and they've lost a lot of their experienced people.

Chef was just the PR guy. He was someone the government (read: Putin) trusted to put his name on the corporate papers and funnel kickbacks, because the two guys who headed the wagner precursor had been caught withholding their kickbacks. The guy who actually ran it was an ex-spetnaz/VDV guy named Dmitry Utkin, who was also on the same flight that got woopsie-doodled. (and likely the only reason they were taken out was because they could get both at the same time). Dmitry was a little (read: a lot) unhinged but knew his soldiering; paranoid but not paranoid enough.

Anyway there are basically two Wagners. One is full of hard-core ex-SF guys from everywhere but mostly South Africa and Soviet-sphere, the other is full of doughy types who did their national service and think they are tough shit but aren't and given roles as glorified gate guards and tard-wranglers.
There was a third but I think its been folded into the regular Russian army now, which was the prison brigades of cannon fodder for Ukraine.
But since Dmitry got ACK'd, the SF wing of Wagner has experienced a recruiting drought; your main inside-the-community man getting whacked by the government, even after doing a mutiny, isn't a good look. But the 2nd-line recruiting is doing better than ever, especially since signing up for Africa, Syria, or SA gets you away from any potential draft or conscript-call ups for Ukraine. But this is leading to an impending issue where 2nd-line Wagner POGs are starting to get assigned jobs that should be handled (or at least lead by) their elite SF branch because the SF elites are slowly attritioning and they are having a tough time replacing them; the usual method of fixing this by just assigning VDV personnel to Wagner/other PMCs isn't viable at scale currently due to Ukraine.

additional sperg: Apparently the guys outside of Slavic territory are not happy with the leadership getting ACKed because they were popular, but as was explained to me they just promoted the #3 guy who was in charge of African operations and gave him a government minder to make sure he doesn't get statecraft ideas. But other than giving the insurrectionists effectively payoffs by letting them term-out their contracts in Belarus doing "instruction" they have not made any other changes - no external leadership replacements, no government meddling, the minders are apparently instructed very clearly they are to be hands off and to just observe and report.
In short, if you were working for Wagner watching a mine in the Central African Republic before the insurrection, the Wagner mutiny had about zero impact on you directly. They are having issues recruiting replacements, and some of their mercs got cold feet when their contracts termed out, but the vast majority of people they have in those areas are just signing new contracts.

They have gotten additional work (see: Mali, Niger) with support from VDV-temp-assigned-to-Wagner but no huge shake-ups. Just their "first line" unit is having trouble getting new people of the same quality as previous.

Anyway they've been there in VZ since at least 2017 watching Russian oil infrastructure, and got a huge uptick in numbers and mission scope where there was the first big protests against Maduro (that resulted in fuckall and everyone going back to their cucksheds) . Then two years later in 2019 during the reign of Gaydildo (which again resulted in the population going back to their cucksheds), effectively all presidential security was turned over to Wagner praetorian-guard style because Maduro couldn't trust that one of his generals might decide take the payday and order him churroed by his own security.

Oh trust me I know. I don't want to powerlevel too much but I know quite a lot about Venezuela. Problem is that the opposition is not opposing something like a republican government in the US, where they respect the institutions and have to actually follow the law. Maduro just kidnaps you from your house and shoots you, its just that since this latest fraud he has gone into overdrive, has had some sort of retard panic attack and now is building "reeducation camps".
If I had to guess, I think he'll survive this, venezuelans will start to migrate on mass again and then Brazil and Colombia will start to feel the consequences of pretending to be impartial while they give Maduro all the time in the world to entrench himself in power. Specially Colombia. I can easily see Venezuelas population going even below half, going as low as like 13-14 million, from the 30 something it had in 2014. That would be basically a first in world history. Has there ever been a nation that lost half of its population without being at war?

I knew it was weird that she wasn't speaking out about her BFF but I wasn't expecting this holy shit. Makes me wonder should Maduro be forced to escape Venzuela would any of the south america countries even give him asylum?

the only ally he has in the region is Bolivia and that is not a sure, Colombia, Mexico and Brazil are dancing about their support, but the fact that this bitch, that was literally Chavez apprentice said that the party is over is really a sign of the end times in the video you can eve heard that she is happy that Maria Corina is safe and sound
