If you sanction a country so much that other countries don't deem it worth holding any of your currency since buying exports from you is either banned or prohibitively expensive, what do you think is going to happen to the currency? All the Bolivares are going to flood back into the country creating hyperinflation. So then the only thing you can do is switch to US dollars. Otherwise the US will have crashed your economy, in order to destablize it enough to install their US state dept guy.

But I guess it never dawned on you.

its mostly dollars, and cripto. There's really no other place where there are so many payment methods people use because there's almos no cash here.

Venezuela is officially not dollarized and national industries produce almost nothing so those dollars are mostly are just injected into the economy by government crooks who launder massive ammounts of money from illegals operations and can't take it overseas because of sanctions and from millions of venezuelans abroad that send their family whatever money they can.

Why is it so difficult for commies to accept that all the misfortunes generated by the corrupt are not the fault of a great US conspiracy? In all this coping and sneeding from commiecucks it's never mentioned that Venezuela's standard of living and hyperinflation crisis didn't really start until the price of oil nosedived in 2008. A corrupt socialist system that destroyed the productive forces of the economy collapsed when it could no longer be propped up by high oil prices

If we gave that much of a fuck about the oil reserves, we'd have bent and begged for permission to send in our experts and parts to refurbish the refineries to the sour as fuck oil that comes out of the ground. So riddled with sulfur it can't be put in anything without heavy work. If we really wanted it, we'd have drone bombed Maduro to put in Guaido probably using unpopularity then.
