Why are you lyin'? Why tf u lyin?

I had a few PC'scBSoD on me that was just an error code and that was it, computer borked, reinstall windows using your reinstall CD, if you made one, If the CD loaded and worked. And oh yeah, you've lost everything.

It wasn't a case of "u big dum, u did not reed screne propamly, MS lejundz neva wud do this".
The new BSOD is so shitty.
I think they removed some options on the front page since 10 and a few of the buttons appear on multiple menus. They hide the button to revert the “quality” updates under a bunch of submenus despite that being the solution ~75% of the time.

If it's 650 USD or more, I just can't see it arriving as anything but a dud. Seems like they wanted to market it as a console (here's a small box with a controller; just plug it in, log into steam and play your games!) with a single sentence that was basically "it's also a PC, btw", then somehow get confused and concerned that everyone sees it as a console and thus wanting a console's price.
Parts are spiking in price again so im curious how that will affect this and other hardware. If this is $650 but the new xbox is $1200 and a gaming laptop is $1500 it could still be viable despite having worse specs. (Lets be real, the people buying this are not in the market for a desktop.)

LTT Anus Tip Tech tells Valve it will do well if it is $500 console prices. They look at each other with unease. I hate that this faggot broke the story that the Steam Machine is going to be over $600 presumably.
If Valve wants it to do well, it needs to be priced competitively with PS5 and XBSEX. If it’s over a $1000, I don’t see that it will convince people to drop their existing consoles.

In a way it's better. It's more user centered where it'll tell you the failure code and give you a QR code to look up what it means with your phone, and if you want to do in-depth manual troubleshooting, Windows will still give you a dump to look through. More detailed and useful than the indescriptive memory address from the old one. That's how I diagnosed I was getting a BSoD because of Nvidia drivers once. No fault of Microsoft on this one. Roll them back, no more issues.

The big issue with the BSoD is that people misdirect their hate. The BSoD's purpose is to tell you that something went wrong with the system, but since most people are tech illiterate mongoloids they hallucinate Bill Gates flipping them off when they look at #0000FF. Linux has kernel panics, yet no one hallucinates Linus Torvalds giving them the Nvidia salute. They see an OS doing it's job.

I thought you meant that BSoD itself wasn't an issue and was overblown by people.
Think I was pretty clear in saying that since Vista, Windows has gotten so stable that you no longer had it shitting the bed all the time. That was a plague of Win9x/XP era. The Longhorn rewrites have made major strides in unfucking that shaky foundation, then with 7, which was a perfected Vista, you no longer had to worry about blue screens as much as you did back in the day. Like I said, last time I had blue screens were due to bad third party drivers, and it's something that was diagnosable thanks to how Microsoft designed Windows and it's handling of system exceptions, of which the BSoD's are only a symptom meant to tell you that something went wrong and that you should look into them. They never were Microsoft saying "fuck you" to the user, nor was it ever meant to be taken that way, but again, users are retarded mongoloids that don't understand technology.

Yeah i see those but my experience so far has been:
- paste error code into google
- open windows forums thread about it
- first reply to the OP is a support tech asking the user to set up a call via link sent to their email, ticket closed and resolved
- qr code brings me to front page of windows support forums

At least when the linux kernel is broke i know it’s because of an update because i had to manually update it at my own time. You put a windows 11 laptop to sleep and it updates itself without you knowing, fucks it up, and greets you with a bsod when you power it on. Ive seen it happen to fresh windows 11 installs and i guarantee you that the jeet that pulled the aforementioned OP into a call just ended up reinstalling windows. 100% every time.

If gooner games work on it, can we call it an xxxbox?
sexbox

I don't care about what the intention was, or how people interpret it, when my 95 and 98 versions of windows shit the bed, it did feel like a big fuck you. The blue screen may as well have had a picture of a dog taking a shit on my computer because in the end, the bluescreen was synonymous with "Your shit is all fucked up and gay. reinstall windows".

Besides, and to bring this back on topic, Windows was pretty perfect from user POV with 98 and XP. All they had to do was make XP more stable and change nothing else. They get no sympathy from me for making every windows worse since then and why, back on topic, I hope this steam machine does well and we finally move away from the Microsoft monopoly. They've had 3 decades to do right by the customer and chose not to. So fuck em and their faggot apologists.

I knew a lot of people who were sucking Valves dick when they announced the steam machine, but I really don't get the point of it. There are pcs 5-6 years old that are more powerful than this junk. Anyone buying this thing at $800 is an absolute retard tbh.

I get the Vibe Gabe woke up on the pile of money that had been building underneath him for the last 20 years and realized...We won...by doing absolutely nothing.

Yet doing nothing is also doing something. And so as all the rival storefronts from EA's Origin to XBOX's gamepass die before the gates of Steam, their last moments of life is to see those gates finally open and a console walk out onto the field to survey the endless expanse of failure before it.

All owners of Steam Deck will get a free copy of Half Life 3 which will also be a sequel to Portal 2

I was on a 3gb vram card for a long time and had no problems (unless I played an ue5 game)

My current setup is better, but the GabeCube will do just fine imho. Valve isn't out there trying to beat Sony and Nintendo in the console wars, though you could be fooled by some of the discourse going around on enthusiast forums.

The funny thing is that while EA, Sony and Microsoft were trying to force people to go digital in 2015, PC gamers willing went digital with Steam because they treated their customers with respect and tried to improve the service using genuine feedback, not telling the customers/gamers what they should be requesting and just be thankful Microsoft and Sony are even making games for them.

Valve could win the console war next year if it really wanted. And that alone is enough to give me a chuckle.
If Gabe offered T2 a chunk of money for six months exclusivity GTA6, while giving them a bigger % cut for digital purchases over Sony, it would game over.

but I really don't get the point of it.
You're right, you don't.

When your competition were retards like Tim "lol epic doesn't need a shopping cart" Sweeney and Ubi "Fail" Soft, doing nothing is absolutely the easiest and correct play.
