You can also tinker with it—the Steam Deck isn't a locked box—and even use it as a regular PC by plugging it into a monitor and peripherals. "Browse the web, watch streaming video, do your normal productivity stuff, install some other game stores, whatever," says Valve.

SteamOS also switched from Debian to ArchLinux.

You also have a micro-sd card it can use, but those will be slower than ssd and who knows how data streaming for the more top end games will be like on a micro-sd card.
