Lets fucking go!!! I am in Canada and will be watching closely, but I would say 70% of the people I know (many of whom are former shitlibs) are openly behind Trump, and all but one of my friends who live in the US has already voted Trump despite most living mostly in deep blue states. In Canada we have seen first hand how quickly a weak neoliberal leader can destroy a country. I truly believe if Trump had won in 2020, the fight against globohomo would be over. Four years of Biden has shown people how bad things can get and how evil this new cohort of neo-liberals truly are.

Took the day off, voted early, picked up some McDonald's breakfast for the fam, and now gonna spend the rest of the day with fingers crossed. The vibe is electric today. Hopefully we get a good outcome. A blowout would be fantastic.

The irony is that Connery said Secret Service is exactly the kind of Bond film he wanted to make. The reason he got so fed up with the franchise and quit was because it was getting to be 'too much hardware' in his words (presumably talking about more and more action, stunts and gadgets) and they were taking longer and longer to make.

Secret Service was a kind of back-to-basics Bond film. As I recall, he doesn't even really use any gadgets in the film.

Problem with Diamonds is they mangled the plot of the book, which was a great crime thriller with spy elements, just to compensate for mangling the Blofeld trilogy.

I'm surprised they aren't remaking them. I would've have figured that had to be in their minds at some point

Problem with Lazenby is that he had like negative charisma. He could do the action decently well (and, indeed, Bruce Lee wanted him for a bunch of his films) but he just wasn't an actor.

Whereas the charisma of Connery is more-or-less what carried those early Bond films, because the character himself is a cardboard cut-out compared to Ian Fleming's characterisation of him, and later portrayals by Dalton, Brosnan and Craig.

Compared to 2016 and 2020 I noticed my swing state county in this blue state has had quite a few people driving with Trump flags and Trump signs with nobody vandalizing. (though I don't know for now.) I know signs don't always point to much but I feel like Trump supporters here would be afraid to show support for him if there are that many Kamala supporters here. Interesting
