I was big into various X books in the 90s, mainly X-Men and Peter David's X-Factor run and they were pretty good for the first half of the decade. The X-Factor goes to the government mandated psychologist issue was fucking great. Was sad when I heard they made Iceman gay, instead of just the low status guy in a team that consisted of an Alpha-male that shoots lasers out of his eyes, an angel winged billionaire, and buff, charismatic super genius. And that was just the originals. It felt different back then, like just a bit more grown up, I can't imagine how retarded they are now. Other than hating Cyclops because he reminds them of their dad.

Eh, it depends on who's writing him. There's really little consistent standard on how Doom behaves from one author to the next. Sometimes Latveria is Bavaria in the Balkans with flying cars and Doom gives a fuck about his people as long as they don't shit talk. Sometimes he's randomly consuming souls to power anime armor. Sometimes he's leading the Fantastic Four because that damned Richards can't. Sometimes he's convincing Dr. Strange to travel into Marvel Hell to save his mother's soul from Marvel Satan. Magneto is more consistently written character, but he has a typical early life section on Wikipedia.

He is what the progressive left stood for up until ~2010. For workers right, pro union, solidarity with other countries but against immigration because immigration pushes workers wages down and hurt the working class.
The entire left used to be just like him. In fact, he sounds exactly like my socialist unionrep when I worked at a car-factory.

Then something did happen around 2010. Suddenly the left did not stand for the working class instead they often openly mock the blue collar worker and the left instead became fully invested in niggers, immigrants and trannies.

It feels odd to know that there are young progressive activists today that does not know that the left progressive movement were all about workers rights for about a hundred years.

I think Jimmy feels like the (far left) progressive movement he was part of his whole life just switched and left him behind.


The hundred years leading up to 2010, Jimmy Dore would have been called a far-left socialist.

@Too Many Catgirls explained it for you. I would just add it isn't always a political candidate laundering their campaign funds. It's publishing houses pushing a particular author they want to be succesful. It's particular private individuals with 25k-250k to drop on someone for to get them to do what they want. There are warehouses full of books no one will ever buy and many more thousands of books that will be used for kindling.

You think 10k people(or however many books you need to sell to be on the NYT) actually read Hillary Clinton's book? Next time a "NYT best selling author" has a book signing event check how empty it is. It's 85% hype and marketing.

The crazy thing to me is how her and Walz are in their 60s and look awful. Like they just look way older than they are. I know truckers who are the same age and at least look presentable because they listen to their wives.

I like him when he’s in that weird “I hate you for a reason I really don’t remember and it’s awkward when we forget that and get along really well” kind of enemy-friendship deal.

I dislike the Hickman stuff because I like the few writers who wrote him as some Eastern Euro whose system of values is different enough where he takes offense at minor bullshit. Hickman is a bad writer in general.
