Update on the McCarthy Speaker Suite Move situation:
Unless this is some kind of political trickery, maybe McCarthy really is just that confident he will win.
Looking at the current Architect of the Capitol, while this is completely unsubstantiated there is a chance he signed off on this to throw a kink in things in retaliation for that recent omnibus bill:

Important to note about this is that McCarthy's move happened before the voting began. Rumour mill is that McCarthy knew he was going to lose the first vote, but likely expected it to be purely theatrical and have the dissidents come back in line after making their voices heard. Going to three votes was wholly unexpected, especially the loss of support in the third vote. Whatever one's inclinations we are in uncharted territory right now and there's a greater than zero chance McCarthy is ousted should the wrangling, arm twisting, and coercion currently ongoing fails to move anyone to his camp by tomorrow.
Nope, they're just smart enough to know that abstaining would be seen as Progs putting a Republican speaker in charge. It's juicy fodder for any primary challenge, and not doing it lets them sit back and crow about the Republicans being unwilling to govern. It's easier doing nothing on their side right now.

Tonight I watched the HBO documentary "This place rules" and I think it's the only mainstream piece of media I've ever seen that even comes close to neutral coverage on the Jan 6th riots.
The documentary follows Andrew Callaghan a Youtuber turned documentary film maker filming the events and protests leading up to Jan 6th. The film doesn't do the hysterical "IT WAS 9/11 AND ANDA SHOAH" shit but rather asks the question "Why did this happen and what caused people to act this insane?". It includes both Q-tard's and Antifa making themselves look retarded. I would recommend it just on the basis of it being so fucking refreshing not too see a histrionic persons take on Jan 6th.

That he's had so much shit thrown at him is part of why I'd be optimistic right now. Nearly everyone in the Freedom caucus has been treated like shit, so these are really the people that do not have any shits left to give.
